Glad to made it to Skagit for the shorties. Always fun and pleasure to watch and photograph.
Long-eared Owl by Peter Hanscomb Via Flickr: Long-eared Owls are nimble flyers, with hearing so acute they can snatch prey in complete darkness. In spring and summer, listen for their low, breathy hoots and strange barking calls in the night. The long-eared owl has mottled orange-brown feathers, distinct white eyebrows and striking orange eyes. It has large head feathers or ‘ear tufts’ which become raised when the owl is alarmed
sweet little kestrel anthro that I was playing with yesterday! I wanted to practice my bird anthro abilities since one of my sonas is an owl
Barn Owl
This is my drawing of a barn owl.
The barn owl is the most widely distributed throughout the world of owl species, and is also one of the most widely distributed of all bird species.
My hubby had the great pleasure of flying this bird at Huxley's Bird of Prey Centre in Horsham, UK; his first experience of bird flying. This drawing is based on a photograph he took of the bird.
