The skies tint with fiery colors as the sun begins its course to set. She was told it was not until dusk when the disappearances within the village begin to occur. A Farmer’s wife, a Tailor’s brother, a Brewer’s son. There was no cohesive pattern, the victims bore no relation. The only factor is that someone disappears sometime after dusk and before the dawn.
Had it been the work of demons?...Or mortals? That was simply what Akali was sent to investigate..and resolve if it was in her power. “Steady.” She commands firmly, outstretching a hand towards the horse-drawn caravan. The beast snorts and halts to a stop on the side of the road. Her clothing is different from her norm, taking on the appearance of a simple merchant. A simple, yet effective tactic to meld with her surroundings. Activity in the village seems to continue as normal, though there is a lingering dread among the expressions of its residents.
Akali glances around as if waiting for another. And in truth she was not to tackle this assignment alone. A fellow member of the Kinkou was already present within the village, the one who had given her such information. When a lone figure breaks from the village activity to approach her, she folds her arms.
“Good to see you, Daichi.” She nods to him with a smile. “We must hurry before the dusk falls. Then we can begin our second phase.”

Quinn flinches and pulls away “Who are you?”
“step on a crack, break your father’s back,” bed head of hair bounced as she sang to herself, stepping inbetween lines and hopping steps accordingly. kaganichi stood looking down the broad, stoned pathway momentarily; a firm stomp on the biggest crack as she continued her merry way.
she’d seen a lot of the inner city, though she’s scarcely touched the more outer perimeters. quaint and more narrow was the environment, it seemed like a more close-knit community.
wandering eye meandered about, looking at shopkeepers tidying their storefronts and objects that she may fancy, things that weren’t as popular with the general populace. gaze stopped at the sight of a white flower: not just any flower, but a rare flower she had only seen on one other person.
could it be?
a narrowed eye untugged the strings of her heart, reassuring her that it was a mere mimic. that was not the case for the elderly man making the purchase, however. toothless, sincere smile, he handed over too much for a fake– kaganichi gently touched his arm.
“excuse me, sir,” she said, anger straining her voice. “hi, hello. i don’t mean any disrespect, but are you aware the man in front of you is selling you a sham?” eye glared at the storekeeper, piercing dishonor and shame into the man.
“beat it kid, this isn’t any of your business. you don’t know what you’re talking about,” he flashed a warning at the woman.
the unfortunate, confused, old man found himself stuck between an annoyed storekeeper and a women with a tight fist, ready to stop the sham transaction at any cost.

"What I have done... cannot be undone."
Why does the champion say it?//It’s a way to remind himself that his actions are permanent. A life taken cannot be returned. He has started down his path and it is the one he will follow. To feel regret is pointless, because you cannot change the past.
Who do they say it to? //Honestly, he says it to himself. To affirm that he cannot take back what he has done and can only move forward. To regret the past is to be lost in it.
Are they being serious, or just trying to act big? //Super serious. If it involves an action; Would they actually do it?//No actions
Another casualty of the precedent the Project had placed upon techmaturgical augmentations for operatives. Unlike her, he not of the elite. Above par, better than many flesh and blood who would be altered and certainly above the dime a dozen automatons. A critical system failure had powered down all nonessential systems, the damage sustained to him crippling. His visor opened, revealing a young though weathered Ionian face. "When did we decide it was okay to surrender our humanity?"
Fiora found herself in front of the young man, the glow of her visor illuminated the darkness around them. Her sword planted into the ground beside her. “Humanity is measured in which how humane one acts.” The soldier leaned forward, head tilted upward. “You are asking the wrong person.”

“Such a temper, such raw emotions. Perhaps there is a way I can use him to my advantage. After all, he has suffered and his anger can be focused elsewhere.”
