Despite Genesis having long-since recovered from his eating problem, Angeal will still sneak food onto his plate if he thinks he’s not eating enough. He especially worries about the MAKO in his system burning through his reserves.
On the days that Genesis is struggling with his energy, Angeal will take on extra duties to see him home sooner. Angeal knows that Genesis is legitimately unwell when he’s being quiet and keeping to himself.
After Angeal’s MAKO treatments Genesis will take him home to their apartment, often in a wheelchair. He won’t force Angeal to bathe while he sweats it out and he’s an expert at changing the sheets around him. He knows how much Angeal aches after a treatment and will simply lay in the bed next to him and read while he sleeps. He always make a point to have soup delivered to them.
Knowing Angeal’s love for animals great and small, Genesis will bribe Angeal “to come shopping with him” when he knows the pet store in the Shin-Ra mall has more puppies or kittens. The staff are always amazed at how gentle Angeal is, and how much the animals love him. From time to time Genesis will also volunteer them to walk dogs around Midgar Central Park.
Not many know about Genesis’ secret apartment under the plate. If Angeal can’t reach Genesis within a couple of hours, he’ll take the train down and find his brooding redhead holed up with his studies on the gift of the Goddess. Angeal won’t disturb him, but he’ll potter around and clean up a bit, go out to get them food and sometimes he just naps until Genesis is either ready to come home or if the last train has left they’ll stay the night. He never complains about Genesis’ studying because he knows how important it is to him, and his passion is just a little bit endearing.
There are two rules in the apartment for Genesis to follow. Don’t go into the kitchen for unsupervised cooking, and don’t touch the pot plants. If Angeal has to be away for a long mission he’ll cook and freeze meals for Genesis and leaves very strict instructions on how to care for his plants. When he comes home he’s happy to see Genesis, but discreetly checks on his babies as he walks through the door.
While it may not seem like it, Genesis loves the outdoors and camping so long as he’s with Angeal. He can manage a few of the odd jobs and Angeal teaches him something new every time. He enjoys being out in the fresh air and the quiet. Laying under the stars on a blanket is always a highlight for him, and so is reminiscing. Sometimes, if he’s lucky, Angeal will play the guitar for them.
When they’re home alone Angeal will often convince Genesis to forego the makeup. He loves his freckles and thinks it’s a shame that Genesis feels the need to cover them up, he thinks they’re cute and he likes to kiss his nose, his cheeks and his shoulders. Genesis is still trying to convince Angeal that the lone freckle on his ass needs a kiss too.
