im doing my yearly re-watch of haikyuu and this thought just keeps nagging me so im just gonna type it out here.
okay so haikyuu is literally my fav anime (i haven't read the manga) and ateez is the main group that i stan and this is such a random combination but i think ateez's values and teamwork and haikyuu' core concept and teamwork is similar??
Like Karasuno as a team were at the bottom when their story began and through sheer determination, grit, and continuous effort they evolved. They have a solid understanding as a team which was achieved through communication and respect, all of them have a competitive nature that helps them evolve as a player and they don't sit back when someone else is growing. They work hard to match them but there's no resentment or ugliness. It's pure sportsmanship.
After years of stanning Ateez, I can claim that they are a lot like the Karasuno team. They too are from a bottom-tier company and all they had was determination and a dream when they started. It was through sheer hardwork that they reached where they are now. They can see the summit like Hinata but are still determined to achieve more. It's their greed to want more and more that helps them evolve as an artist and as a team. Because the team' thoughts are aligned — it is to WIN, no matter how, they want to WIN just like Karasuno' greed to WIN. They have climbed one steep hill at a time and it's their hardwork that has given them their results.
And i think the reason I like them both so much is probably because im not like them. im not extremely determined, I can't push until i achieve the result I want. I don't have the greed for success and I don't wanna reach the summit. I just want a comfortable life. But looking at them makes me wanna try. Even if it's for something small, it makes me wanna get up and do something.
