hello! does the MC being pious have advantages later on in the story?

Hi! I’m having some issues with my chronic illness so I’m sorry if this isn’t as detailed or coherent as I would prefer lol (It’s made me slow down a bit with asks as well, but I’ll get to them! ♡)

Piety is connected to divine magic, which devout clergy members utilize. It allows them to infuse divine magic into alchemy (destiny/inhibiting elixirs) and reveal Brakkus’ Mark and the Affinity attributed to it (if it has awakened). It can also give them minor healing and brief impressions of a near future. Nothing as powerful or detailed as it is with light affinities, but something.

If MC has high piety, they’ll experience those impressions on occasion (they’ll also refer to the Gods more in general). Mini spoilers on how it’s occurred in-game below so far:

Light affinities get one of two visions prior to the Lysto mission. Either of the insurgent wrapping their hand around their neck, or of Anle’s presence at the banquet. This is in a detailed vision long before the day. The vision regarding Anle will allow a light affinity to sense and turn around in time to view Anle’s entire (spooky) arrival on the balcony.

If MC has high piety, while they won’t have a vision, they will feel Anle’s arrival soon enough that they’ll notice the tail end of their entrance.

i had to replay again cuz my recent welling save got broken after a update fix and i just noticed that the body shape have some texts variations 👀

"You notice how he takes extra care not to rest his hands anywhere you may deem inappropriate given your shapely form.

You're sure you catch his lingering gaze.

Your proximity causes a tinge of red to grace high along his cheeks."

this one was having a shapely body when welling bumps against mc, the first time i played with an wiry body (i think 🤔) it hadn't that detail of welling "appreciating" it a bit xD

also in this same playthrough i had something different with Anle as well, at first i thought it was because of the body too but after doing Venali route (GONNA TALK ABT HIM IN ANOTHER ASK BC IM SHOCKED) it didn't happened

There's little ambiguity to Aero's words. The pause is more than you needed to understand that the Sokaf seeks other-more intimate-connections when needed.

His expressionless gaze sweeps over your stunned expression before glancing away."

There are a bunch of variations sprinkled throughout! Every customization choice you make gets put back into the story, it’s just a matter of where! But yeah, a romanced Welling is always respectfully looking, but usually with much more finesse. In that moment, the shapely MC was making them struggle lol.

Anle isn’t shy about their extracurriculars! And if MC expressed any attraction to them prior to that moment, their gaze is far more meaningful.

hello, peony! hope you're doing well! i was wondering, and i hope this isn't silly, but if our MC marries Anle, that would make them Consort in a way, right? or no? also, is there a specific title or duties that are expected of us to perform?

The Sokaf position is more of an occupation than it is a title (it means something similar to protector or defender). So, any spouse of Anle’s wouldn’t necessarily have a title, but they would be recognized as untouchable. While they don’t have any obligations, there is a heavy societal expectation that they reflect the Sokaf’s ideals, engage with the community and participate in its protection on some level. Achians essentially grow up with these standards though and so it’s really seen as the bare minimum. It’s like saying: “the spouse of a monarch should know proper etiquette,” well, that was probably instilled in them since childhood so.. easy lol.

It could potentially be a lot for MC to navigate though. Some Achians would have less of an expectation as they’re Navaarian while others would have more of an expectation for that same reason.

I dont know if i'm just dumb or wayyy too ace but I lowkey didnt even realize Anle said one of their hobbies was sex 💀 I was right their alongside my mc going "Hey! He likes reading too! :D" not even registering what else he said until I saw that other ask that said his hobbies were reading and sex.

Oh noo!! Hahaha. They were very subtle about it! It wasn’t you! That’s still really funny though.

All these Ace MCs going to meet A for a 'relaxing time' after promising A a 'special treat'. MC turns up with some signed first edition books and A is just letting it all hang out.

Anle: Half dressed, they take in MC’s demeanor. “You never intended to lie in my bed.” The acknowledgment comes out slowly; their cold gaze lowering to the rare books in MC’s arms. After a tense moment, they take one and close the door.

You know it's been over 24 hours but I'm really not over the Sokaf being like "my two hobbies are reading and sex" I keep thinking about it and laughing out loud.

Hey, I recently replayed your story, it's so good! I noticed Triv kind of insinuated that there was a specific reason that the MC was summoned last to the ball, and it had something to do with Lystonian tradition but they didn't really explain why? For some reason Welling will get summoned before Venali if they are a mage, but after if they are a guardian, is there a reason for this or is it something that gets explained later in the story?

Also is this the reason the Sokaf singles out the MC over all the other Navaarians? Because they were the one that was summoned last and that implies something about them that we don't yet know about?

(Hi!) Ahh you noticed🫣! There is a reason, but it’s a spoiler-y reason. I’ll say that, for Lystonians, they summon in order of the guest’s perceived importance.

Before Anle went to the banquet, they intended for their initial outreach to be towards Em. All they knew of them at the time was of their house and position as heir. To them, it was the single most important connection they could make during their visit. And then—they actually met Em. They quickly realized not only could the two never be plain with one another, but that Em could see Anle as clearly as Anle saw Em. So, they decided to pivot and saw a similar opportunity in MC the moment they separated themselves from the others.
