My reply: Blondes DEFINITELY have more fun!
What would you say when someone texts you "You're featured in spot.ph!!!!!" (yes, with that much exclamation points)? MY reply went exactly like this, "Huh? For what? What's that?" I was confused for about a second then decided it was probably the press kit Clean & Clear has been sending out, or if not, something to do with Blush Magazine. I mean, my life's pretty boring, I spend most of my days cramming architectural design plates and I doubt that they would be "feature worthy." So imagine the surprise I got when A tells me "For being a blonde blogger!!!! The Blonde Blogger Syndrome: 10 Scene Stealers in the Blogosphere!!!"
I was shocked, confused, and just kept asking myself why and how over and over and over again! But that was over in like... 5 seconds. After that, I was just super kilig and giddy! Then when I asked A who the other 10 were, I was nothing less than stunned. I felt like I couldn't move and if you saw me you'd probably think I was such a weirdo -- standing by the acad oval, with a phone in my ear, and my jaw on the ground! I was extremely star struck because I knew all of them (not personally though! Don't blame me for being such a blog reader... I have read the blogs of all these girls even before I found out about this!) They're probably like "Who's this?" when they see me. SINONG NASINGIT? Hahaha! But hey, such an honor to be placed beside those ultra talented and extremely creative girls, or should I say, "Blondies"? I bet they're all so used to this already, but I am not, AT ALL! I hope you forgive me for posting this SEMI narcissistic post! :P
Soooo, if I haven't made you think of me as superficial in any way and you still want to read about it, you can do so HERE!
If you're too lazy to... here's a screen cap -- okay, I also wanted to post it, sorry na! As my best friend (who they also happened to mention I was "obsessed" with hahaha ewww sorry Is, I love you but you know I'm not obsessed with you. You have enough fans already!! Haha!) would say, "Be blonde, loud, and proud!"
I had no idea that my blondness level was at carrot. Haha! I think it sort of looks like that in photographs but I (yes, ako lang) think it's actually a dark goldish brown. Everyone thinks my hair is super light. My colorist, Jessica of Aura Salon, uses L'Oreal's Ash Blonde 6.7 on me (of which I wrote about HERE). Come to think of it, A LOT of people ask me what my hair color is... even random ladies in the grocery store who ask me for advice on which color to buy! I always say, I don't know anymore because my hair so many layers of dye already. So it's probably the way it is because of multiple shades of blonde.
Although I don't think she was hating, I saw someone actually comment that Tricia was the original blonde and everyone just started copying her. I find it funny how people just seem to assume that they know everything about everyone. Not that I care what they think, but for the record, I was blonde WAAAY before I started blogging and before I even knew who Tricia Gosingtian was. (If by any chance, she gets to read this, Hi Tricia! Haha! I don't think I ever saw you in school but your mom was my teacher in Ateneo!) My mom actually said I was so obsessed with having my hair dyed blonde (proof HERE and HERE) and wanted my hair darker.. reason for why I'm not as blonde as I used to be. Haha!
Okay, I'm rambling again when in fact I just really want to thank Anna Canlas for including me in her list! I am absolutely grateful! Thank you for including the Clean & Clear voting link too!
I also don't think I've mentioned this before -- I owe part of this to my kabarkada, Ayet! Without her constant belief in me and her never ceasing encouragement, I don't think I would've made this blog. Thank you also to my friends Kay and Royd because they helped me out with stuff to put in this mess of a blog when I started a year ago. :)) I'm just going to take this opportunity to thank the following: Blush Magazine -- the Dizons, EIC Vicky Tensuan, and the whole editorial team, who trusted me enough to handle their online segment and for exposing me to the actual beauty scene in the county.
A and Isa, who give me lots of reasons to write, whether it be because of their fabulous gifts or because of our blog-worthy "adventures".
My mom -- my very first makeup tutor/guru and all around glam-o-mama, and my dad, who "sponsors" 98% of the junk I post here! Love you guys! P.S. There couldn't be a better timing for this! It just so happened that this is my 200th post! My 100th post was also about something BIG for me and my beauty obsession! I sure hope this becomes a trend... ;)
P.P.S Thank you to my readers (mostly my friends who really take the effort to read) ISSA, Kim (who replies to most of my posts by directly texting me and for not caring about ROAMING when she's shopping abroad), Monica (also for chancing upon the article), Beryl (my favorite Pinay beauty blogger!), Roxxi... Okay, kayo lang yung nagsasabing binabasa niyo eh. Hehehe.
