First draft for Annabelle and Web!Martin … I really like how they came out so I’m sharing it with you guys :)

meanwhile martin's end of the annabellemartin dynamic is like

martin: ugh I can't believe I'm gonna kiss her.

jon: well, if you want to kiss other people in general then I'm fine with that, but you don't actually have to kiss her.

martin: no, I'm going to.

annabelle really did her homework on martin. "his boyfriend is known for being cryptic and ominous? I can do that. he's a poet? boom I can do a poem reference. he does snippy banter? I can match him for it. he tells me he's expecting drama? well. ::::)"

and yeah I could talk more about how annabelle and martin probably understand each other pretty well on a certain level, having grown up in similar environments (poor with emotionally abusive mothers who would use their difficult situations as weapons to guilt people with) and developed similar defense mechanisms that they carried into later life (her bit in 147 about the key to manipulation being to always be under or over estimated sounds a lot like how he handled his confrontations with elias and peter), but that's for serious meta posting and this is fun silly time so I prefer to talk semi-nonsense about annabelle having a crush and her love language being spiderwebs

really in my mind annabelle and martin's dynamic is like. martin going off for ten minutes about how she better tell him what's going on and that he's not going to cooperate and he's only allying himself with her out of necessity and annabelle calmly listening from a few feet away and then saying "okay that's cool but I'm ready to kiss anytime you want like just let me know when"

my brain's stuck on only thinking of annabelle's whole thing with martin just being a kinda botched seduction. she simply has a crush on him and would like a littol kiss but it's been Many Years since she's had to be a normal person so she's just like "oh yeah people like ominous equivocating clues and dramatic poetry misquotes, right? that's the ideal way to romance this man, right?"
