Hello there! So I know this is totally random and don't feel bad if you can't answer but I have been searching all over for a way to edit voice clips to sound like Midna from Zelda TP, and I found your video on youtube. It was fantastic by the way, but I wanted to ask if you remember how you edited it. I use audacity and I just can't get it to sound right. I know it was from like a year ago but it would be awesome if you could help me out. Its for a project! Thank you!
Hey! Thanks for watching my (amateur) dub from like over a year ago, I really appreciate it.
As for the effects, I used Audacity too. I searched on YouTube and found a lot of audio editing tutorials on it. Messing around and experimenting with all the different effects also helped too. If you’re going for Midna’s kind of voice, I’d suggest you avoid using the ‘Echo’ effect, as that only literally does what it does - echo. If you want to create the more ambient sound that her voice has, use ‘GVerb’ in the ‘Effects’ menu tab and mess around with the settings. What GVerb will do, is that it’ll put your voice in a room scenario, naturally creating an echo.
There were probably a couple more effects that I used like ‘Phaser’ but I think GVerb will give you the iconic alienating tone of her voice. I hoped this helped! Sorry if I replied really late, I haven’t been on Tumblr in goodness knows how long. All the best for your project! I’ll probably get round to recording again sometime too, haha.
