With the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women officially taking place on November 25th, we at Ann Arbor Roller Derby want to take the days leading up to it to inform ourselves and our community on this ongoing issue. 

Taken straight from their website, SafeHouse Center “provides support for those impacted by domestic violence or sexual assault. SafeHouse provides free and confidential services for any person victimized that lives or works in Washtenaw County. Our services include emergency shelter for those in danger of being hurt or killed, counseling, legal advocacy, support groups, and especially, hope.” 

This is truly an amazing organization dedicated to protecting and helping those who need it most. On top of all the amazing things they already do, right now if you donate $35 or more to SafeHouse Center, you will receive a complimentary oil change, a 27-point inspection, and hand car wash.

We are so excited to announce the 2017 team rosters for the Ann Arbor Brawlstars, the Arbor Bruising Company, and the Ypsilanti Vigilantes! 

These skaters have worked so hard and dedicated so much time this season and we can’t wait to see what these teams are capable of doing next year!

Last weekend, the Brawlstars' very own Scream, Jadzia, and Slamlet participated in a strongwoman competition at their gym, truly showing what it means to be a strong athletic skater! Extra special to Jadzia, who took home 3rd in their weight class!
