15. Things you said with too many miles between us
"I miss you"
"Yeah, me too"
Even Noors voice sounds far away, a little distorted through the speakers of the phone.
"What did you guys do today?"
Engel starts telling about their day, today the four girls finally reached the sea in their roadtrip. They listened to Jannas music whike driving and built up their letarge group trend as soon as they reached the camping area.
Engel looked forward to this trip for months but now she can't help but to feel a little melancholic. Mostly because she really misses Noor.
"Can't you just come over?"
Noor laughs warmly.
"You know I can't. Also your friends probably would get annoyed if you bring your girlfriend everytime you hang out with them."
"They wouldn't. They love you."
Her melancholy must be easily heard in Engels voice as Noor speaks up again.
"Come on, dumbass. You are amazing and incredibly strong. You'll get along for two weeks without me, it will be over in no time. And I promise we'll hang out all the time once you're back."
"hmm"
"Heck, I'd even plan a cute date if you want that. But for now your friends deserve some Engel as well."
Somehow this already makes Engel feel better.
"Thank you"
And she's right. Engel is strong. And this entire trip is probably going to be fun.
Noor just chuckles and starts telling her something about a project she's doing.
Until Engel hears the girls coming back, Livs voice calling for her to come to the beach with them.
"Hey, I have to leave"
"Hm. Have fun with the girls."
"No worries. And don't forget planning that date!"
Noor laughs warmly.

14. Things you said after you kissed me
Engel keeps her eyes closed a moment too long, still in disbelief this just happened, that Noor just kissed her. That she simply pulled Engel towards her and closed the remaining space with her lips.
She can still feel Noors breath on her lips, her warmth, how close they stand.
"You can open your eyes now"
It's barely a whisper but it still makes Engels heart beat a little faster.
"Okay"
Even now, that Engel can directly stare into Noors beautiful dark brown eyes, can see how her lips curl up in a soft smile, how her eyes twinkle, none of them steps back. They are still so incredibly close.
"I've waited ages to do that" Noor whispers, her breath caressing Engels lips.
When Engel remains quiet she starts speaking again.
"Because I really like you, if that wasn't obvious."
Engel feels a smile forming on her lips.
"Me too"
She doesn't specify if she too waited ages to kiss Noor or if she really likes her but Noor seems to understand. She nods lightly, her soft smile unchanged.
Again there is a pause, just a beat of silence while the two girls look at each other.
Then Noors smile gets wider.
"Does that mean we can do that again?"
Engel laughs quietly while gripping Noors collar to pull her in for another kiss.

Of the Devil flew under my radar way too long for being so completely up my alley. As soon as I saw it i knew I had to play it!
(No spoilers) I just played through chapter 0 and the writing was INCREDIBLE! The world-building was cleverly done, the humor was great, the characters were so interesting, the writing STYLE was witty.… I really can’t think of anything I didn’t like! Chapter 1 is already downloaded and I am excited ahhhhhh!
