is it too much to ask about your coloring process?
Not at all! Its very simple tho, but here it is:
1 [Base color]: after I have the “clean” lines I’ll select the whole area i want to color (this case derek), create a mask on my color folder, then start filling each sections (skin, hair, clothes, etc.)
2 [Shadows]: I clip a new layer outside the color folder (depending of the mood I use bright/muddy colors) trick myself into believing I’m doing this correctly and set the layer to multiply + opacity 20-40%
3 [Highlights & Other Stuffs]: new layer, add highlights, play with the hue/saturation settings and sometimes color the lines or add texture!
That’s it! This is how I color most of the times and I’ll be changing it as I learn new things :D Hope it helps and thank you for the ask!
