This lady was a boss before women were even allowed to vote in the US! Her efforts directly impacted and changed lives throughout her lifetime, but the really cool thing is that even today, the seeds she planted are impacting millions of lives!! Millions!! I can’t wait to share more about Anne Banning very soon…but for now, I honor her today! To all the girls following their dreams, to all the mothers raising empathetic, kind, and responsible children, to all the women who refuse to go quietly into the night because of their age or color or sexuality or gender… I celebrate you today! Regardless of what the history books sometimes teach, and regardless of what many insecure men think… your impact on all of civilization is immeasurable! I don’t like to compare, but it may just be MORE important than that of men because you are the innovators and and dreamers and leaders that historically have done your work quietly, behind closed doors, or literally in the dark, without accolade or prestige or acknowledgement. Sometimes even at the risk of prosecution, abuse, or worse. THAT is what makes your impact all the more important… unlike men, you have done it largely without prestige or fame or riches or glory! There is no doubt in my mind that you, beautiful members of the “fairer” sex, you have made us what we are today. Much work, across the globe, is left to be done, but I look forward to seeing your acceptance and participation continue to grow and expand and today, I celebrate you.
