The tree doesn’t fall far from the apple
Paintings by Anne Vernimmen and Kostas Varveris
Ersi Varveri and Gijs Waterschoot, The Pink House*, Antwerp
They showed us our first colours, we crawled in their ateliers, we grew up with the smell of oil paint and thick dusty art history books that we used as castles or doll houses… Watch out! Don’t eat the paint! For The tree doesn’t fall far from the apple, Gijs Waterschoot and Ersi Varveri are inviting their parents, Anne Vernimmen and Kostas Varveri, to show their work together.
* The Pink House is an artist run space with a long history of organising a variety of projects, as well as having studio spaces and hosting residents. At the moment it is run by Ersi Varveri and Gijs Waterschoot, currently they initiated the Pink House Press, which is a d.i.y. publishing workshop that mainly produces zines and magazines.
