99 Ranch or Ranch 99?
I call it Ranch 99 as it's was something I've grown accustomed and comfortable to via my hometown and community in SJ. But whatever feels right for you.
If someone really wanted to understand you, what would they read, watch, and/or listen to?
Neon Genesis Evangelion (1995 series) and/or Naruto... if you read manga, Vagabond. dead ass. I like mechas, good fight scenes, discourses about human nature, building authentic will/resilience, questioning moral, what it means and takes to achieve happiness, and depression. bam! I put the Annie in anime. jk... but for real..I don't watch anime or whatever I'm interested in for the sake of escapism, I do everything with purpose... to engage in discussions bout life and using it to remind myself of the autonomy I have in creating who I wanna be.
What is something that always makes you smile?
mutual feelings and good vibes...people being genuinely kind, helpful, and having a damn good time.
What is your best pick-up line?
“Be unique and different, say yes.”
Are you the kind of friend you would want to have as a friend?
yes. But I'm trying to prioritize being my own friend first. I work damn hard to be the best version of myself everyday.. for myself then for others.
Do you try to improve yourself every day? What can you do every day to improve yourself?
Yes, I do strive to improve myself every day. I understand improvement can be defined in a variety of ways. To me, improving myself means living by my values everyday to the best of my ability. Additionally, it's also the process of constantly redefining/ developing how I feel, view and understand the world, as well as myself within it (and others). My values consist of traits and attitudes I feel I should devote my life to and always strive towards. First, before I devote myself to world, I’d like to serve and develop my heart, my soul, my mind and body. I feel developing myself requires a conversation between me, my community and our environment. I want to share authentic experiences and connections with people in order to understand myself and serve the world. I feel that’s my purpose. I don’t just enjoy it, it keeps me sane. Because honestly.. I’ll literally melt and die.
I want to keep learning to be as accepting and inclusive as possible. In order to do so, I want to value and embrace everyone’s differences. I’d like to be a canvas to help people feel empowered by their uniqueness, to explore and understand themselves as I too, learn from them (creating strong relations that is ideally mutually pleasant).
Another value of mine I’d like to uphold, is the continuation of viewing myself as a student. One who is always learning from the world and others; ever expanding my capabilities and knowledge (this includes holding myself accountable to my mistakes and intended/unintended harm).
I feel these traits align with Alpha Phi Omega's definition of leadership, friendship and service. That’s why I’m personally so adamant in joining this fraternity, it’s to improve myself.
