Hi, Chris! I got into Jem because of the "10 Most Outrageous Episodes" article you posted way back in 2012. I've watched the series like three times since. It's my favorite. Earlier this year I was listening to Sailor Business, and my friends and I realized we could do a sort of humor recap podcast for Jem, too. We're about 25 episodes in, and we've had a ton of fun with it. I wanted to thank you for the inspiration. (and if you'd like to listen sometime, we're The Jem Jam on iTunes!) Thank you!
Oh awesome! I’ll definitely check it out, and thanks for letting me know!

if you still need help I might be able to offer some advice re: Child of Light. Though I mostly just powered through the game with the big beast cat mask monster guy tanking and whatserface princess hitting crap with her sword???
SPOILERS FOR CHILD OF LIGHT UNDER THE CUT
YES PLEASE. I am stuck/keep getting murdered by Crepusculum and no matter who I bring I keep getting wrecked
AND I TRIED doing the Cat dude (fav) with Aurora to kill her but I just... can't get it because Aurora keeps getting owned ;w;
Ianniezard replied to your post: Guys, The Prestige is so good.
Have you read the book? I found it years after I saw the movie. It’s not as marvelous as the movie’s complex simplicity, but the book does a lot more with the Unreliable Narrator concept and has a pretty Shelly-esque frame narrative. It’s a good read!
I actually never remembered it was based on a book until I rewatched it tonight! That's crazy!
But I think I might pass on it.
It's like how Drive was based on a book. At first I was really excited to get my hands on it! But then I read a snippet on Amazon, and I realized... I didn't want to read Drive. I wanted to watch Drive.
Because both of those movies are such singular experiences, so intrinsically tied to the medium in which I experienced them, and in both cases are good stories that are elevated by the process of adaptation, that I don't think I'd really get anything out of reading the source material.
I mean, can you really imagine reading Drive? Without the feeling of the editing? The direction? The camerawork? The soundtrack?
I missed last night because I was writing scenes where I just
One after another after another, until suddenly it was almost 11 o'clock at night.
But how's everyone's word counts for week one so far? Any struggles or woes or ailments? Any SUPER AWESOME progress? Progress of the super awesome kind?
Because all progress is super awesome?
Gimme yo updates. I'm gonna climb into the inbox and do some actual blog stuff today...and just...generally EXIST for a while. I've forgotten what it's like to not be an omniscient being.
Here's what our progress looks like so far:
How I don't have carpal tunnel, I will never know. I still can't believe we broke 10k yesterday like WHAT. Also, I'm running out of outline. I ended up condensing chapters and now my outline is even shorter. Crisis.

anipendragon answered: …I’m only at 14k because I hurt my wrist and have to take a few days off. But I’ll catch up again, I promise.
WHAT A TIME TO HURT YOUR WRIST. When are you going to pick up again??
emergencymari said: Off topic, but I’m stealing that gif. yes.
That gif is best gif.
anniezard said: 6518! I wasn’t able to write 2k yesterday like I hoped, since I had to turn in a final project, BUT I MADE UP FOR IT BY WRITING 3277 TODAY
OH GOSH you're doing this during school? I'd never be able to keep up if school. No way. I write zero words while in school, it's the worst.
lil-miss-banana answered: day two of “nothing done” buT I HAVE SATURDAY OFF. SOON. SOOOOON. (/goes to die now)
And then you end up going out and doing life stuff. I did life stuff yesterday for like 1.5 hrs iF EVEN and the entire time I was like
My everything hurts. I'm half certain I will try to stand up and then both knees will give out. But I feel good. I. I feel. Good. /strained voice
I still have about 2.5 hours left...gonna.......keep going.........

admiralwithoutships answered: Luckily, I’ve actually started my script. It’s slow-going though. I have 6 pages. But then 100 in 30 days is about 3 a day. So it’s fine.
OH. Well, that doesn't sound so bad, but I've never written a script before! Not unless bad tumblr conversation posts count (they do not at all).
othersidhe answered: Just glancing at the screen I read: “Zombie mode I FEEL SO ALIVE” and had to lol for a moment there.
OMFG /dies but not the zombie death
aboard-the-astraeus answered: Oh man, good amount! I… restarted… and I still don’t feel like it’s right. Oh God. Hope yours is going better!
AW. You need to write without ever looking back and worry about revising later!!!! One of my friends wrote a whole scene and didn't like it at all, but she's going to plow forward anyway! DON'T STOP belieeeeving.
starlingprince answered: (hello i am kind of awkwardly popping to celebrate my 1642, finally averaging out to make today’s goal)
(You are most allowed to awkwardly pop in, 1642 is a fantastic number and I love it!)
anniezard answered: 3234 total so far, but only did like 1k today/yesterday (EST here). Defs stepping it up and gonna try and hit 2k tomorrow!
WOOP. Tell me you did 2k. Tell me. I want to see these words.
anipendragon answered: Yep! Hit the word count goal for day two, though didn’t get much over, and am now working on day three. Sitting at around 8k now!
How do you do the thing. NO I'M STILL GOING TO TRY TO KEEP UP. I'm making up lost ground. I'm probably going to make up lost ground all month. Where are you now. (I don't know why there's no question marks here.)
frompawntoqueen answered: Oooh impressive, I wrote my goal of 1000 today. Because I officially joined camp nano and did the math of what I need
WOO. Are you aiming for 30k, then? That's a nice number. I like that number.
anniezard replied to your post: hell of a weird way to introduce myself, but dude, how good is the Dreamfall Chapters trailer!? (nobody I know has ever heard of the series its very sad)
The Dreamfall Kickstarter is buzzing with people trying to figure out who the voice is! Tornquist said for sure it isnt the White of Kin (Aprils sister), but nobody knows.
Huh!
I wonder if Tornquist will confirm if anyone guesses right or if we're all going to be sitting here, wondering until the release. /CRIES

Oh man, fly fishing out west is so fun. Hope you have a great time!
I didn't know you fly fish! It was definitely fun, and challenging. Thanks Phantom!
anniezard replied to your post: Lonesome Crowded West
Oh my gosh, fly fishing! Lucky! I’m glad it sounds like you had a good time. Did you pick up like seven million huckleberry-flavored things while you were there?
I did pick up a sunburn, and many fish that were safely returned to their waters! We didn't stop in town much, and the place we were staying provided food so I regret to say there were no huckleberries! Tons of beautiful scenery and locally grown food though. I am going to guess that you also engage in fly-fishery?

I love Montana—it’s so so pretty. Where were you guys? Eastern or western Montana?
Southwestern Montana! It was extremely gorgeous, indeed! What was your visiting occasion?
poupon replied to your post: Lonesome Crowded West
did you catch a fish did you keep it what did you name your fish you caught and kept
I caught quite a few! Bill was about 7 pounds and 23 inches, and he is under the wise care of his well-oxygenated stream that flows through a massive pond!
