Day One of AnomalyCon with Caitlin, the indie dyer who inspired my next release Drinking a lot of water because of Denver's high elevation!

Josie is helping me get ready to sell my books at a thing next weekend. I'm on several panels plus I'm playing a recital, so I hope I can really stay on task and focused this week to prepare 😇

Feeling nostalgic and melancholy about a convention. Not cuz of the convention itself, but cuz of the friends and space that was opened. AnomalyCon, a Denver steampunk con run by some of the best folks I have had the pleasure to know. I know they're all moved on to other and better things, but I'll always remember fondly the intentionality and care given to how the space was created, nurtured, and grown over the years with regards to intersectionality, accessibility, and radical queer community support. The last year they ran was one of the last year's before I started transitioning and there's at least a small part of me that has that space to thank for the confidence to move forward in accepting myself.

5 years later and I still think of y'all.

P.s. The radio steam site I helped with is still viewable on archive.org and it made me smile.

Anomalous Times continued:

Daisy La'fluer has attended the facilities which practice in alchemy and the art of arm poking.

Although it has been determined that all diseases of an inappropriate nature are absent, there appears to be a bubbulous monster of unwanted origin. They say that the "screening" should be completed soon and it is hoped that the beast is of a benign nature.

A parcel of news is attempting to reach the Captain. Decidia has chosen to abruptly abandon all personnel, though it's rumored to be the fault of the Navigator.

Lafluer was found wandering the streets of a nearby town when the constable acquired her. Not understanding how far lost she actually was, the misunderstanding led to a secret facility at the edge of nowhere. After identifying horrid abuse of those who are mentally ill, the hospitals have since been aggressively sued. And many of those individuals will never be seen or heard from again.

Today, she can be found working for a house of relations in the affairs of security. It is clear that, allthough through increased dramatic impact of preemptive attacks, Lafluer has survived the catastrophe.

The convention does appear to be missing, however, as is the TARDIS. It seems that there may have been something otherworldly involved in the absorption of the convention. Has anyone seen the Doctor?

Quantum Mechanics have taken over the age of Steam.

Apples Inc. Is at odds with Oranges, Goggles, and the snail mail organization. No one knows how far the new concept will go, but there are reports of teleportation and out of horizon aircraft.

No one is prepared to battle of the economic woes, but there are new light devices and instruments which have great promise in repairing the engines in town.

Meanwhile, special guests have been lining up in hopes that anomalycon will return. It's been reported that it has been traveling through the space time continuum and has otherwise collapsed into a very strange situation in a new world.

Is it identical? Certainly not. Can we prove it? Professor McAllister may have some answers in an upcoming panel on space, the quantitative theorem, and the events that took place during the conventions' trip on the Airship Morrighan.
