yah !! I’ve always hated how it’s like. unheard of to go against a popular character or ship or whatever in a fandom bc that automatically makes you ~wrong

the counselor bit is really cute!!! buuuut I’m a little hesitant about gumshoe being a tie between phoenix and miles, even for something as trivial as why they sent their kids to the same camp - one of the reasons I think the parent trap actually somehow manages to //work is because no one could ever have predicted it would happen. like. who is expecting these twins separated practically at birth (can u even do that with adoption so soon afterwards I dont know heck it the power of au compels u) to ever EVER find each other, much less at some random summer camp in northeastern USA ?? nOT ME THATS FOR SURE

and that’s why I really do think even with phoenix and edgeworth being super amazing at detection or whatever, making the leap between ‘my kid’s acting weird’ to ‘this is my ex’s kid what the fuck’ is much less likely; they haven’t seen or heard from one another in 14 years, why would they even consider the possibility that their kids somehow met and swapped places on them??  everyone can tell that something’s wrong, but the only person who even hedges towards the correct reasoning is chessy in some offhand comment she quickly takes back and calls ‘impossible’ immediately afterwards

I have such a hard time distancing myself when I make aus, like if they’re based off a movie or book or whatever I typically keep everything as close to the original source as possible (probably because I’m more visual, so when I watch the movie I insert the characters directly into their assigned roles), so those potential jobs for phoenix and placements of lana&mia and gumshoe&maya are super cute !!!!!!!!! ..but I would need more persuasion before I could decide whether or not to go down that path haha

if any lanamia comes out of this au it’ll definitely be more of a background thing, excluding any scenes I maybe will draw on their own just because I can

I can’t say anything about the original, but even with the weird pacing of the 98 remake I still love all the ridiculous ‘adventure’ of it and how it’s sort of segmented into different parts of character interaction to focus on: (for this au) the twins, trucy and edgeworth/the entire germany-based household, apollo and maya(?), some phoenix and edgeworth, phoenix and the twins, one big ol gross fam, phoenix and edgeworth

I believe the name of the series is Kenran no Hana Kassai wo Idake, with Love (Up) and Love (Down) being the names of the volumes.

There also seems to be an extra story (Maybe not a 3rd part?) that was included in the combined version that I'll see if I can find.
