This was for an anon ask wanting Lightbulb feeling left out or smt (I snowballed from the idea anyway, oops).. but then tumblr attacked, and didn’t let me answer it.

I have two questions.

First one being. Dose Becky most likely or definitely has to hide her physical discomfort or disgust when ever she sees modern society’s popular words that are used in slang. You know. “It’s fire.” “That was lit.” “Gucci”or “eh yo.” Or even abbreviations. “Omg. Wtf.” And so on and so forth?

because I ask because it’s sort of a running gag in the main show that when ever she hears a word mispronounced she immediately makes a disgusted noise and expression.

Side question: is that a common thing among her people?

My Second question is about another running gag in the show, Becky is extremely terrible at everything that doesn’t have to do with defending words or more specifically she is utterly terrible at anything creative like dancing, painting, singing. Is that also common among her people?

There is an old short somewhere on YouTube where Becky and Violet are painting a tree in art class and Becky’s portrait is just the definition of the word tree. It’s actually kind of hilarious!

1. Mostly not. She is okay with slang and recognizes that as a normal part of human language But chooses not to partake in it. She will type in perfect grammar to her friends over text and will not correct them if they get something wrong as to not come off as overbearing. The only thing that she hides her disgust for is foul language.. Which she will never use.

Lexiconians are known for their proficiency in learning foreign languages and gathering information incredibly quick. Her people are very proud of this and that can manifest in the overcorrection of others.

2. Lexiconians are bad at art. All of them. Not only do they not understand it very well But they actively choose not to do it. Lexiconians are literal-minded and relegate any form of creative work to the primates and aliens who work on their planet (Like the statues in Beckys ship or the mural).

The reason why they like reading is because it is not written by them. They seek knowledge but they do not create it. Thats what makes humans special.
