Data taken from this will be used as a reference while writing for an academic class, specifically a creative writing project with a system

Hello. I’m currently in a writing/english language arts course, and am using my project time to create a short narrative through the perspective of a collective to help provide more positive representation of systemhood and dissociative disorders to the general public, due to the negative stigma that has appeared in recent years based on mainstream media releases such as “Split” (2016).

While no two systems are the same, and don’t follow the exact formula often seen or described, I want to avoid writing based on solely my own experiences. This survey is designed to gather feedback from the system community on tumblr to avoid negative stereotypes and highlight aspects that might be badly represented or not written about through a narrative perspective.

In your defense at the time, the most recent picture of Rook was very awkward, so you didn't have great references to work off of.

Back to the praise because AUGHHHH something about how you did his cape, it makes him look even more bird like. I love the little shine on his beak and all the detail in his hair.

My sinerest apologies for the belts, if it is any comfort, I dislike myself for adding so many as well.

Now I shall add him to the hoard and then chew on him while writing the newest chapter, thank you for the additional moviation, Anon!

first off. i have have HAVE to give a glowing recommendation to once bitten new life by northamericanjaguar for all snake jay fans!!!! it is fantastic and VERY VERY good :D it does have jaya, but its early season jaya, so take that as you will

while this one isn't on ao3, i'd be remiss not to mention the fantastic mr walker by shinyshiny9. while it's uh. on hiatus, let's call it, it has one of the best character writing i've seen in a while. reader discretion is advised, as it touches on some pretty heavy topics, but it is worth the read if you can handle it

if you're looking for dragons rising jay, here's strength and survival by orange_sunsets! spoilers up to s2p1, so none of the recent leaked stuff, as it takes a divergent path. amnesiac jay just trying his best out in the world ✌️ and getting adopted by dragons

PLAY TO WIN BY SADISTHETIC. i love this one SO MUCH. if you want skybound angst and jay and cole beating the shit out of each other, read play to win it makes me SOOOO UNWELL <3 it is tagged as cole/jay but it can be read as gen just as easily

been a while since i last read this one, but i really liked enchanted opportunities by arco_harrison03. jay gets the powers of a djinn and has a BAD time about it. it does have jaya as it's directly post skybound, but its more focused on jayngst than jaya. oh also pixal's there because she can be <3

if you want a bit of a fucked villain jay arc, take a bluejay in an electrical storm by internallyscreamingdaily. it's not done (and unfortunately might not get its last chapter :[ ) but it tickles my brain juuuuuust right with all the tasty tasty angst >:3

and to finish off my list of recs, current hunger by achillightning. also a darker fic, soooort of a villain jay, but, in the words of the tag, "villain arc but in a kinda pathetic kinda whumpy cringefail way." it has jaya (a lot of fics do end up being shippy) but i also dont remember there being much ship content last i checked? it's been a while though aaa >_>

actually i lied bc i realized that most of these fics are heavy angst SOOOOO here's a funny fluff fic of kai and jay bodyswapping. walk a mile by storiesaremagic is short and cute if you like bodyswap :0 completely gen

i think so far, alterline's had some interesting changes, but one of the ones i've really dedicated myself to is the serpentine. they aren't a group of battle-hungry aggressive snakes. because hey! calling them tribes, making them visibly non-human, and saying that they're aggressive and love war and battle is KIND OF BAD! ninjago's not great with being normal about indigenous people tbh

but i made the change from them being war-hungry and wanting to raise the great devourer to them being normal people who just want to live after being prisoners of war for DECADES, but are strung along by the one snake who wants to destroy the world for some alluded sense of vengeance that he hadn't let go of. there's only one bad apple now instead of a whole rotten orchard

that and i gave them clothes. it makes zero sense why they're nudists please for the love of god GIVE THEM CLOTHING.

and i'm just gonna take "this year" as being last year since. well. it sure has been one month since 2024 started lol

uhhh first work huh. in terms of art, my first piece was this, done in late 2017. yea idk either

my first fic is still on ao3, which is i believe sparkling water? unsure, i kinda didn't have a good grasp on these guys yet. or was good at writing lol

how many wips do i have? too many dfgjkhgdfjkh technically all of alterline is just one very large wip, i have abandoned wip writing projects, and i have some art wips that i kinda . dont have completed lol but its fineeeeeeeee

oh and fics!!!! lemme tell ya, all snake jay enjoyers should read once bitten new life by @northamericanjaguar its SO gooddddddd the snakeisms <3 just for me. also been seriously enjoying the no wu au by @kydv404, fantastic alternate worldbuilding and amazing found family moments, 10/10. and ofc how could i forget twwt bats <3333 by the amazing @morrogatari absolute MWAHHH chef's kiss of a fic

and i just listed the ones that are currently being updated regularly in my inbox, there's many more that i lose my brain over every day because this fandom has so many talented artists and writers and i'm having a FANTASTIC time here :D
