I didn't like that Blair was blowing off work and Eleanor to help Chuck. That's not having her priorities in the right place.
i knew you were actually going to come to my ask and complain about this. you guys are just so predictable. Like i know exactly what bone you're going to pick because it's just that. You guys solely watch the episodes just to pick a bone with it. A week ago when i saw the producer's preview for the episode i knew to expect this ask from you. It's baffling.
Now i don't know who you are but i know you must know relationships consists of give and take.Chuck did major things for her last week without her even asking for his help. And when he had brought up Lady Alexander she propositioned to help him without him ever asking. And honestly it's not like Blair was dropping everything to go help Chuck. It was perhaps 12 hours of her time. it's not like she took a whole week off to jet to Dubai with him while her company is suffering. Like srsly this is a non-issue but i knew you would bring it up anyway. Why i didn't hear you complaining last week about how Chuck did not have his priorities straight as he ran to Blair like a puppy. I guess i'll never know.
I think both Blair and Chuck definitely have their priorities right. They are leveling their careers with each other. And sometimes they're going to have to take turns with their career and each other. Blair doesn't have any buyers so that's a real issue. But at the end of the episode, we saw that she listened to the voicemail and jumped back into her career mode. Maybe she needed this little scheme as a breather. She did say witch hunts are a Valium right? season 2 anyone? If Blair couldn't take 12 hours of her day to help Chuck with game-changing scheme as such then, i think it would only speak worse of her readiness to be in a relationship.
Relationships are about mutual nurturing, devotion and the likes. Maybe you wouldn't know that if you ship Dan and Blair because Blair never actually displayed those qualities towards him. She's only ever done that with the people she actually LOVES, which have been Nate and Chuck. So i understand why this may be a foreign concept to you especially if your ship never had it. maybe it's because your ship wasn't a real mutual relationship and you just need to accept that.
Why am i so predisposed to believe that you don't like Chuck? Oh....maybe it's because you scrutinize every little thing about Blair into an argument against him when he's done absolutely nothing wrong.
And the whole beauty of the scheme which you are overlooking is that Chuck and Blair were working together. Blair had her role and Chuck had his role and they both came together to successfully complete the task. I think that's another notch to say that they can work together successfully in many more aspects than romantically. They cover the whole spectrum of compatibility. They always had that, which is why no one else ever stood a real chance.
