for the genshin anon a few asks back, when it hit huge popularity ( 1.3, around the xiao/hu tao banner ) people were really huge on talking about how games like these can lead to a gambling problem, but eventually it died down and just became “well it’s not that serious people are adults and can spend responsibly” but that.. is wrong on so many levels. seeing george get ready to start big spending on the new banner had me fucking shocked honestly- holly
He was most likely being paid well over $300k for the stream and makes millions. It's sad to see how many kids/adults/teens/etc are addicted to wishing and getting genuinely distressed when they don't get the characters they want. A lot of people have literally made Genshin characters into a part of themself and MiHoYo is encouraging these attachments. Idc if someone relates to a character but tying your identity/believing you are a gambling character that can take $500+ to get is really unhealthy. I play Genshin 100% F2P and still have fun.
