Ohhhh hohohohohoho yeeeeeees.

Mizuki is 100% going to flee/leave the Hashimoto and join Overwatch. I'm using key art as my basis for this claim.
I request a jetpack cat in all of my Ana games so I can:
1. Snipe from range in the air with no fall off.
2. Have a taxi back to the fight when I inevitably die from sniping in the air while dangling from a cat drone.
I have a lot to say about yesterday's spotlight preview. A lot of it was said during a discord call yesterday/last night but I want to put it all out on the interweb. I just a little time to process the amount of stimuli I've encountered with the addled brain i possess.
2 things I will say though.
1. Thank god they dropped the 2. Now I don't have to figure out which tag im going to use becau a e that just cleans up the presence of the game in a nebulous web space.
2. Mauga is going to be a huge part of Vendetta's Talon. He fits the boisterous "making a presence" threat that she wants talon to be known for.
My wild card in all this which I'm working through is reaper. It's really juicy in a does he stay in Talon because of he leaves he knows he'll be hunted? Or does he leave and decide to reach out to Jack to try and take care of vendetta much in a enemy of my enemy is my friend even if we are morally locked into a death spiral of hatred.
Then they have gay sex and adopt Illari. (Just kidding.... but....)
"Honey! New lore video dropped!"
This story takes place shortly after the final cut scene for the PvE missions of which Talon operatives retrieve Zenyatta at the Shambali Monastery. Although it is just a dialog between Zenyatta and Ramattra it is still a good sized window into the character of Ramattra. A few things to note about this short story:
1. Ramattra's partnership with Talon is severely strained (as can be expected). Both Null Sector and Talon as core concepts of organizations don't align philosophically so it is to be expected that they (Null Sector) will severe ties when there is no use for them anymore. I would be curious how that would look from the perspective of Talon aiding an organization to global threat only to have them discarded and treated like everyone else. Talon has been taking major losses lately which is related to the organization's structure and the high ranking officers in control. Employ a bunch of selfish, greedy, narcissistic talent expect that to be a reliable when the chips begin to fall.
2. Zenyatta's relationship with his kin is as strong as with the humans but he is not the type to disregard the point of view of anyone. Not saying that he would join Ramattra in completing his aspiration and goals, just that he isnt foolish enough to shut out what he has to say first. Zenyatta also shares a very close bond with Mondatta's beliefs and holds those as a core value still.
3. Ramattra's pain is unrelenting. It has consumed him completely and retribution is the only answer. If he had an out from his situation that door closed long ago. He doesn't question why overwatch is interfering with his plans only that they are simply "in the way". This could be a subtle way of attempting to manipulate Zenyatta, or at the least plant a seed of doubt, into switching sides.
4. This is more speculative but there is a panel with this character in it:
This is very likely a hint at the next hero. Whether they are an agent of Talon or a different organization is kind of nebulous. My interpretation is they are a mercenary for Talon and the explosion is her doing, creating added chaos to the ranks of Talon much like how Mauga almost compromised a mission for them as well. We are seeing that Doomfist's leadership is not about longevity of Talon but more about immediate results and selfish desire. *as a side note tremendous that Sombra, although works for Talon, has been known to act independently for some time now and feels sympathy for what they did to Sigma. And let's not forget O'Deorain... whose drive is simply to just push the limitations of the human body and Talon has been the only way to fund that. Ohhh and Reyes.... lovely, sweet boy Reyes. Vengeance. Unrequited hatred clouds his eyes and the moment he gets to fulfill that desire not even Doomfist will be able to reel him back in.
I do hope we continue to get more of these story pieces because as much as I love the original lore I really do find something intriguing with the new blood. This is a much more complex situation that the world finds itself and it really has the potential to launch Overwatch (the organization) into a more positive light with the in world denizens. Those stories always make for good reads, overcoming adversary by doing what you know is right and just despite the obstacles in your path. And I am a firm believer in giving a voice to all the pieces on the board so this is a good place to be right now.
This is one of the most interesting video series about Overwatch development to me! I love learning about the dev process for heroes and the history of the process and how it ties into the original lore.
Small indie company is actively having a network meltdown. Never had this issue with Overwatch 2. I guess they never anticipated how much of a hit the game Overwatch 1 too would be.
I love some of the interactions with random people you meet in Overwatch. Granted there is a lot of unneeded toxicity and they do make up the vocal majority in most game modes/ ranks but the good ones make you feel so good.
It was just a singular game of prop hunt and it was so much fun! we ended up losing 3-2 with the attacker's advantage but we won in spirit!
I have to say that there is something extremely intimate (platonically) about having a duo in OW. There is a lot of communication building, teamwork, managing of the emotions, constructive criticisms, highs and lows. Through all of it if you're both emotionally mature enough it builds a strengthened bond that develops into something unique. You start thinking alike, you both develop your own form of communication, you know when each other needs to take a break. It's pretty fucking cool.
*I can see the parallels of a romantic relationship in this example. Never really gave that much thought but I guess it is just good interpersonal skills to have.
