Day 20xx... I mean, 26ish - Coobie, Robin and the Anonvees
These are the characters from the entertaining-as-it-is-depressing @coobiespacecat pokemon blog, about a hearty contender for world’s grumpiest glaceon, his friends, a vaguely demonic Beevee Swarmeon and a horde of adorably irritating or irritatingly adorable Anonvees.
If these have taught me anything it’s that I really need to work on my paws some more. Every attempt at Coobie’s paws turns out worse than the last, and I don’t want to talk about how long it took me to get the angle on the lying-down pose right.
The anonvees on the other hand came out surprisingly well and easily - every time I thought it’d take me forever to figure out how to pose them but they actually came out really well first or second try almost every time. I was dreading the one playing with his ear, but it came out great.
New ground trod:
=> Multiple characters in a scene => Quadruped lying down => Interesting angles (behind, above) => Quadruped on back => Furniture
The last picture is obviously uncoloured and more than a little sketchy - the room is hand-drawn without too much effort, but it still came out acceptably at a glance.
The anonvees are a really interesting bit of work, considering how expressive they can be despite having no expression. I think I’ve learned a fair bit just studying Coobie’s art on how to get that expressive body language out through just angling the head and limbs, and while there’s still plenty to go, this is a decent start.
Next pictures will probably be moving on to some of my other friends’ fursonas and avatars!
