The stars twinkled above as the sounds of summer chattered around them. It was silent but not all at once and Y/N was thankful that for once they couldn't see Jiwoo well.
"Well..." Y/N began to speak, words awkward as they tried to say something worthwhile. After what the two of them had just been through, saying anything casual was just not enough to fill the void.
Y/N could see through the dark that Jiwoo turned to face them, though if her eyes were on them, Y/N couldn't tell. Their mouth felt strange as it opened to say something else, but ended up making no noise at all. They let it close and stood just looking at Jiwoo's silhouette.
"Y/N." Jiwoo's voice was soft and Y/N had to lean closer to hear her. In the darkness, it was hard to see where Jiwoo exactly was, but when they felt something soft brush against their cheek, Y/N knew it was Jiwoo. They could feel Jiwoo's breath against their cheek, then against their lips and it took every ounce of will to stay still.
"Yeah?"
"Sleep well, Y/N." Jiwoo whispered and Y/N could feel her lips brushing against their own. She was so close, they could kiss and Y/N wanted it so bad. Before they could, though, Jiwoo pulled away again and began walking toward the street lights in the distance. "See you later."
"Yeah...see you later, Jiwoo." Y/N was dazed, fingers lightly touching their lips as they stared after Jiwoo's retreating silhouette in the night. "Fuck..." They knew that their dreams were just going to be of her now, not that they minded.
