Slambook style forums are incredibly transparent for anonymous posting sites. Gather all the most common insults and you have a clear picture of who is writing them. What generation would make fun of mental health, adults that play video games, adults that watch cartoons, and “woke culture”? The generation that didnt have those things. What they dont realize is that they are falling prey to outrage culture. Any press is good press. When you spend 50 pages of a thread on one person it tends to give them more visibility because it’s an additional search result. Not only that but they add all the relevant links! All for free. Linktree with a negative spin managed for you! We should thank them for the exposure. Most people get paid to spend hours doing that for someone else. Recognize that it helps them too. They get that stuff off their chest inside of an echo chamber. That stuff offends them because they dont understand it. They post about others coping as a way to cope with what they dont understand. Let them. In the same way we say “If you dont like it, dont look!” we should be willing to take our own advice. Again, why would you stop free advertising? I’ve found some of the most amazing people that were targets of these forums. Sure, some make me raise an eyebrow but they usually target smaller creative types which need the exposure.
