I still don't really understand what categorises someone's house in your Mahoutokoro headcanons (which are awesome btw)

Like I know that how each house came to be has been spoken about but I haven't really picked up on what characteristics actually set each house apart

Or maybe I'm just blind idk

But anyways your headcanons are super cool!!

Okay... It's a bit late, but Still I answer:

House Keikain: they value courage, dedication and assertiveness. Like Exorcism that requires firm hand, determination and fearlessness from evil spirit, they value these. Think them as Generals in the battlefield. They are also great martial leaders.

House Matsuyama: they value humility, empathy, delicacy and forgiveness. Like Art of medicine, they are skillful, delicate and mutable to the needs of the ailed. Think them as medics or healers.

House Yonomori: they are materialistic, diplomatic and ambitious. Like legilimens which they practice they can bend anyone's mind to suit the ways they deem necessary. Thus they are great with speech (diplomacy) think them as politicians or advisors to the government

House Hideyoshi: they are logical, perceptive and vigilant. Like astrology and divination that they practice, they are futurists and they never miss any tiny detail that occur in the life... and thus they predict the future. Think them as logisticians or stratagists.

House Nobuyuki: They are idealistic, curious and creative. Like the art of scripture that they practice, they see the physical world and transform that to something new. They are the artists, creators and intellectual thinkers.

Aww, thank you, anon!

Ben is a Tangled OC that I share custody of with @finnoky— he lives in the post-s3 world of TTS. As for if there’s anything keeping him from achieving his goals, not really.... Ben’s not a super ambitious kiddo to begin with, and the only thing he really wants is a home and family, which he eventually finds with Quirin!

How do you feel about Cassandra x older Varian?

Let’s just say I’m not a fan.

Then again, I’m not much of a shipper in general, so I’m not surprised that Cassarian (aged up or not) never appealed to me.

well in that case: - What is lavender house? What about clockwise? is Clockwise still something you're doing? is there a plot? is there any planned storyline or medium in which you dream of making them or are they just characters for now?

*rubs my little hands together* BOY HOWDY, WHERE TO START

Lavender House is a story about a young 20-something named Adrien who gets a summer job as the groundskeeper for a cemetery, and the plot follows his budding friendships with the ghosts living on the property— it’s a very fluffy, found family sort of thing. I’ve been taking a break from it for the past few months because of school/work/Covid/just life being pretty hectic in general, but I ideally want to turn it into a graphic novel or webcomic. The plot is all fleshed out, I just need to draw it.

As for Clockwise, that story has actually been a long time in the making, and it’s gone through a lot of changes (and it will likely go through even more in the future).

Currently, it’s an urban fantasy time travel adventure following Julian, a human scientist, and Charlie, a vampire conman. Julian is from the early 1910s and has been sent to the future by a mysterious figure known as The Conductor, a fae who is said to exist in a realm outside of our perception of space and time and who operates a train that can take you literally anywhere.

The Conductor is rumored to have access to infinite cosmic knowledge, and Julian makes a deal with them in order to also gain access to that knowledge. In exchange, The Conductor sends Julian into the future via their magical train to retrieve a special pocket watch that was stolen from them.... unfortunately, that pocket watch is one of the most dangerous and coveted magical artifacts in recorded history, and while Julian might be a certified genius, he’s not nearly street smart enough to so much as glance at the watch without getting dogpiled. Which is why The Conductor points him in the direction of just the guy he’ll need to get the job done.... a certain conniving vampire who’s had his hands in pretty much every bad decision west of the Mississippi.

It’s very solidly in the Buddy Film/Heist genre, all set in an urban fantasy world. So it’s pretty much all my favorite tropes thrown into a blender. I have most of the plot worked out (though it’s very much subject to change), and if I’m ever given the opportunity, I’d love to turn it into an animated series. It could also potentially work as a webcomic, but turning it into a series would be a literal dream come true.

tldr: I don’t have any concept of writing short, concise stories and everything I come up with ends up being way too long for me to do on my own, so a lot of the stories/characters I talk about get unintentionally shunted to the side whenever I get creatively burnt out from the sheer length of the project. I don’t mean to, it just happens— but on the bright side, taking an extended break from a story usually provides me with a crap ton of energy/inspiration when I revisit the concept, so nothing stays stagnant for long.

what's Julian's opinion on magic? Does he think it exists?

Yes, Julian believes in magic and is well aware of its existence. It has a huge presence in their world, so not believing in magic would be like not believing in gravity. Magic and science are two sides of the same coin, and Julian wants to understand both.

As for whether there are scientific explanations for magical phenomena— sort of. More like there are *logical* explanations for magic, but they don’t always conform to the strict rules that govern scientific comprehension. It’s much more loose, and therefore less easy to understand or master. I’d imagine there would be some in-universe debate over what separates magic from science, but most of the time, you can kinda just look at it and make an educated guess.

Do gilda and jim have powers?

They do!

Gilda’s power is magnetism— she herself isn’t a magnet, but she can control/amplify magnets and magnetic objects. She can sense the magnetic waves and manipulate them with the magnets in her gloves, boots, and knee pads, allowing her to lift magnetic objects and jump enormous distances/hover for short periods of time. If she has access to a source of electricity and really concentrates, she can send an electromagnetic pulse through technology to render it useless.

Jim’s power isn’t nearly as flashy, but it’s just as useful; he has heightened spatial awareness, which basically means that it’s nigh-impossible to sneak up on him. Combining that with over 40 years of experience in professional henchman-ing, and you’ve got a smart, strategic martial artist who’s basically invulnerable to stealth attacks— the way you take him down is by overwhelming him, because even if he can anticipate someone’s movements, he’s only human and he can’t keep fighting forever.
