Just couldn't help it

Maybe it comes from not having much, or maybe it's just the desperation of trying to hold on to what little he does have. Maybe it's nothing but pure narcissism. But Billy Hargrove loves staking a claim. Marking his territory.

There's the desk by the window in English with B.H carved deep into the top of it; the battered paperbacks in his room, each one with a neatly written Property of B. Hargrove on the inside of the cover; the foil wrapped sandwiches and cans of soda in the staff fridge at the garage, all with a big block capital BILLY spanning their length.

But there's one thing Billy has that he can't scrawl his name all over, no matter how much he aches to.

Steve Harrington.

And it drives Billy mad, 'cause Steve's the one thing he's damn proudest of having.

So he finds a way.

Because Steve's got such pretty, pale skin, so easy to mark up with a whole patch of deep purple hickeys. And Billy loves to see them bloom.

And he also loves to stride into Family Video during the mid morning lull, right up to the counter where he can lean over and tug down the collar of Steve's preppy little polo shirt until those marks are no longer hidden. He gets such a thrill from seeing them there, looking even more garish in the daylight. And Billy absolutely loves the way that Steve's cheeks flush with colour, turning almost as dark as the hickeys on his neck, when he whispers,

"You trying to keep these hidden away, baby? Afraid everyone will see how much fun you had last night?"

And Billy knows that he can come back hours later, right at the end of Steve's shift and Steve's shirt collar will have stayed just as Billy had left it, no matter how much Steve's fingers had twitched and itched to fix it with every pair of knowing eyes that roved over his skin. And he knows that Steve will flush with that same deep, dark blush the moment that Billy leans over the counter to stroke a hand over his exposed neck, finger tips pressing right against those marks of his, and whisper, "Good boy."

Rebecca!! You're a swan maiden!! You live on the reservoir at Garreg Mach in your swan form and at night you walk the monastery in your human form and you're all elegant and lit up by starlight!!! Flower this is SUCH an amazing idea, I freaking adore it! It suits my tastes so well... being a swan during the day and watching all the students go by, and then turning into a human at night, all elegant and beautiful... poor Lysithea's probably mistaken me for a ghost once or twice! Ashe and Edel would both be so gentle with me, Ashe bringing all this delicious food he cooked during the day ("I thought this might be better than breadcrumbs!") and quietly reading me stories about the world. On the other hand, Edel brings all sorts of trinkets from the Empire and beyond, and I motivate her to get stronger, so she can protect the both of us.

Oh, I love it. Thank you for such a nice ask, I'm going to be thinking about this for a while!
