Finally caught up again on these posts, I'm partway through the 4th of these 6 films, The Thin Man Series. 🎞️ Chapter 27: The Thin Man After the Thin Man Another Thin Man Shadow of the Thin Man The Thin Man Goes Home Song of the Thin Man 🎬 The Thin Man series were comedy mystery movies (that might've skirted with a hint of noir, were they darker and bleaker), based on books and characters written/created by Dashiell Hammett. The characters Nick and Nora Charles (played by William Powell & Myrna Loy in all 6 films) directly inspired one of my all time favorite podcast segments, Beyond Belief from Thrilling Adventure Hour. This was more than enough reason for me to want to watch. Over the course of the series the likes of Maureen O'Sullivan, Cesar Romero, Jimmy Stewart, Virginia Grey, Sheldon Leonard, Shemp Howard, Donna Reed, Stella Adler, and Tor Johnson, among others. There are (as ever, not surprisingly) some problematic elements, though so far nothing too severe (comparatively), and on a whole so far, I am enjoying them.
