Hey, that was me! It'd be wise to tread carefully in the tags, but where there are quite a few books in the cosmere people tend to be pretty good with spoilers. CFSBF stands for "cosmere fandom still best fandom". That tags the more fandomy side, whereas cosmere is more about the content.

I'm aware this is a quite specific question to my own work, but I'd appreciate it if you could give your ideas or perhaps open it up to your followers. I'm developing a magic system which requires three branches that work in a similar way. I was going to use manipulation of light and manipulation of darkness, but I can't think of a third branch that would fit. Do you have any suggestions?

Usually when people decide to write about light and dark as opposing forces they use and “undecided” option. This means that they either have no power, or more power, or both powers but at a weaker level. Another option is to go the “Ma-Ti” route. if you don’t get the outdated reference Ma-Ti is from Captain Planet, and has the power of heart. Heart or life force or qi is a neutral energy that can be used in coexistence with light and dark. Something to look into are different forces in different mythologies. Lots of mythologies revere natural forces, and explain that there are both light and dark in humans. By finding out what these forces are you can cobble together a third force for your story.

-Famous Last Words - My Chemical Romance. it has literally saved my life.

2. Album that changed your life?

-Either "The Black Parade" by MCR or "Absolution" by Muse. probably a bit of both. they made me fall in love with music.

3. Describe your hair in great detail

-okay. its long, halfway down my back and a couple of inches past my boobs. its very loose waves and the hair at both my temples is really curly and frizzy (think afro like) but it isn't that noticeable because of the length, it just gives my hair more volume. the colour, now there is a hard one to explain (keep in mind this is natural and i've never died it). okay, imagine a dark red, then imagine it burnt. now add some auburn, and now gold strands are in the mix. then throw in some good 'ole fashion ginger. that's basically my hair.

4. Favourite line from a book?

-this literally changes all the time and it was probably different two hours ago but right now its "She never looked nice. She looked like art, and art wasn't supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.” ― Rainbow Rowell, Eleanor & Park.

-5'5" or 165cm

-oh wow. id love to have an English degree and be a tattoo artist who designs band-merch

30 Day Challenge: Day Two

Favourite Author - David Eddings

David Eddings was the first author I truly loved, the first where I could say straight out that he was my favourite. I bought the rest of his works before I finished the first series. Since I initially read them I've realised they're more flawed than I thought, but I still gain the same enjoyment each time.

The first series I read was The Belgariad, a story of magic and gods and a farm boy realising his destiny. It's not a work of art, it's not incredibly original, but it's fun. His other books are in the same vein, with The Redemption of Althalus being of more skill.

I put off reading the books I was initially given for a long time. When my father gave me them it was mostly to stop me rereading Harry Potter yet again. It was years before I finally picked them up out of boredom and curiosity. I'm so glad I did, it's because of them that I read the fantasy genre now.

Just because I know I’m a fool doesn’t make me any less of one. It is foolish, really. This isn’t some cheesy rom com. The rain doesn’t mean anything. Running for trains doesn’t mean anything. There’s no symbolism, this is real life.

Text messages are just that, text messages. There’s no deep connection in meaningless words, in general conversation. People talk all the time, I’m nothing special. Just because something is rare for me doesn’t mean it is for them.

Someone can mean everything to you, but to them you’re just another face in the crowd. It’s so unbalanced, it’s so unfair. Why can’t these things equal out? Why can’t people feel emotions in the same ways?

I fall in love at the drop of a hat. A few kind words, one fun night, an evening stuck in the rain… But for everyone else? That’s just commonplace. People who are used to kindness don’t get so attached. You’d think I would have learned my lesson by now. This is the third time in a year and a half that I’ve fallen for someone because they were kind to me. This is the third time in my life someone’s been so kind to me, so maybe that’s why.

I like to think I’m making progress, I’m trying harder. But in reality I’m just falling faster.
