Have you ever had to live through the trecherous slump o downward slope, you have, haven't you? Have you had the courage to smile through the strife? Accept it with equal eqanimity as you welcome success? No (that's a big no for me, at the least. But, here I am cultivating an #attitudeofgratitude ). For when this Universe doesn't give up on me and gives me a fresh slate of chances each new day, who am I to doubt that these roadblocks aren't temporary, and that certain lessons ought not be ignored? That is what Hope is to me - today - for a couple of days. A belief that even in the microcosm of nothingness, utter dust as you say, one tiny flicker of ray will reflect (sun) light and brighten the room (of life). That void ti me today, is nothing but an opportunity to bloom - as we were always meant to. The year began with quite a tumultuous start for Mother Earth, starting with Australia on the east (fact: bush fires started in Sep. 2019), then USA v. Iran, and now even Canada v. Iran - and closer in the Indian backyard - the riots and the consequential (unnecessary deaths) and entire debate of right and wrong & Govt..v. Us. So I wonder sometimes, what if - what if there was no wrong - what if EVERYONE saw the other as a part of themselves, the entire world as One Unit - every strand of grass, every river - every milimeter of flora and fauna, perhaps every atom - as per of this dysfunctional 'Me?' As the Upanishads puts it - the world is one family (Vasudev Kutumbakam) or as J. Krishnamurthi says - we are one to be refrained to define ourselves with boundaries of nationalities, religion, caste and only then war would cease. Do you believe a world of White is possible? Where there is no You and I and just We? Words fail me today and emotions over-flow. There would be many more posts dedicated to this person - my Guru, my mentor, my friend, my 77 year old son who lovingly called me Ammijaan. I cannot miss him, because to miss him I will have to forget him, which is not possible. A part of me has died today. This birthday I realized - That as much as I love flowers - I no longer want them carefully Crafted in bouquets - I want them growing Silently in my midst. And that's the birthday wish for me. Hey ya'll! I know I haven't written in a while and I apologise for it. Writers' block you may say, among other things. This concept however, has been hovering in my head for quite some time. I believe, as humans we have much to learn from nature - and just from the magnanimous flora and fauna - but the much forgotten tiny creatures/insects and even seeds. Every inch of soil, will be throbbing with life - alas! You don't notice it much. Anyhoo! The tiny seed of Hope resides in all of us - at all ages, at all stages of our lives - believing in our latent potentialities. We are all made up of frailities. But in this supposed perfect world of social media -- we have forgotten to emote. We have became the 'cooler' generation - with even 'cooler' hearts, having frozen our hearts, and relegated it to some dusty corner behind the ribs, we never visit. In this constant state of success, our hearts have forgotten to witness the beauty in the ordinary. But that's the thing, the extraordinary cannot thrive without the ordinary. So I'll bare it out (even if you won't) - (i) I sometimes just stand and stare at the sunsets, the setting sun saddens me, and overwhelmed by it - I simply cry, (ii) little children and animals (especially dogs) teach me how to laugh and love respectively, (iii) words are not hollow angles for me, they represent the person uttering them and their words are enthused with the emotions. I am sucker for the ordinary.
