-Starter for Anri- (Pre-Izaya enterance)
Kida stood idly by the door listening to Anri's words. He could tell that she was scared; not only for herself but for him and Mikado as well. He knew exactly what that felt like. For he too have tried many a time to protect them both from the darkness of the city as well as the fact that he had been a member of the yellow scarves. He didn't like keeping such a thing from the people who were most close to him but it was the only way to keep them safe he figured.
Walking towards his good friend he had a look of grief upon his normally cheerful face. Glancing down to look at Anri's face he heaved a heavy sigh and hugged her gently. He held onto her for awhile before letting go. He wanted her to know that she was safe, so long as he was beside her.
"Anri, I know that you're scared. Hell, I am too but if we don't settle this now, it'll haunt us forever. I'm done with running away. I promised myself I would protect both you and Mikado. I'm not running away this time, Anri. It's time for us to face this. It'll be fine, I promise. You're not facing Izaya alone. I'll be with you. If he wants to hurt you he'll need to go through me first."
His heart sank hearing his own words. He knew that it had only been an empty promise and he was well aware he probably wouldn't stand a chance against the info broker but still, Kida had to try.
Taking Anri by the hand he sat down on the couch and held her close waiting for her to speak again. He couldn't help but feel this may be the last time they would have any sort of peaceful moments together nevermind the fact he hadn't seen Mikado for awhile. Even still, he was determined to somehow put an end to the informant's reign of terror, after all he would do anything to keep his friends safe.
