From TV Guide 20181031
Q: Was there any fashion trend in your school?
M: The school I went to was very strict. They had rules such as, if you wear a sweater, it has to be the one the school provided. Ah, but, when Sho-kun graduated, I got only one button from his Keio uniform. I attached it to my blazer.
S: Really?
M: Was it the wrist? It was a small button, I said, "This is a rare opportunity, so give it to me. You're not gonna wear it anymore, right?" Then I got it (laughs).
S: Eh, I don't remember at all. Was it middle school? But that story is after we became Arashi so... Was it right after Arashi was formed?
M: It was high school. I think it's around the time that Sho-kun no longer wears high school gakuran.
S: That's right. We are two grades apart so when I graduated, Matsujun was still a first year.
Is there a stationery you used that you still remember now?
S: I used this type of eraser that (when used) its waste will be rolled (neatly instead of becoming small pieces of waste). For the pencil case, up until leaving university, I used this one I bought in Shibuya in second year middle school. I also didn't feel like changing it. It was this thing with a yellow skeleton. But some years ago, Matsujun gave me a new one as a birthday present, so I retired that one (laughs).
M: What kind of pencil case was that? I'm sure it had something to do with rugby.
S: Yes. I think it was more than five years ago.
Supporting facts:
From The Television (2011)
S: The next topic is about a small secret you haven't shared with other members.
A: Small secret? There's none.
S: There's no secret.
N: Yes, that's right.
S: If it's about something that changed recently, I have one.
N: That's good! Let's go with that!
S: I changed my pen case. I received one from Matsujun for my birthday.
M&A: Yay ~ (high five)
S: It didn't have any memories attached to it so I changed it with "something important I received from a fellow member."
M: I knew he always used the same pen case so I decided to give him that as a present.
O: Huh, that's cute.
N: Pen case is good, huh. I also thought of giving you a pen case.
M: (shy laughter)
A: I haven't given you a present so I'll also give you a pen case! (Laughs)
S: Stop that! (Laughs)
From Kindai (2000):
I'm planning to get a driving license. When I think about it now, balancing both school and work was quite tough, but I think in my own way I have done my best. By the way, I'm giving my gakuran button to Matsujun. The small thing attached on the sleeves.
