Reacting to the news of the US president’s decision to stop supporting the Saudi war on Yemen, Yemen’s Supreme Political Council said that Yemenis will not be fooled by mere US statements.
“We consider any move that does not end the siege and aggression against Yemen as just a formality and do not pay any attention to it,” Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a council member said via Twitter Friday morning.
“We are not those who are deceived by statements no matter how they are expressed,” al-Houthi noted.
The remarks came hours after US President Joe Biden announced an end to Washington’s support for Saudi-led aggression on Yemen, in a reversal of the Donald Trump administration’s foreign policy.

A devastating massacre took place today when US-backed airstrikes targeted a market. Hospitals report receiving over 100 either dead or wounded men, women, and children.
It is impossible to verify the exact number and names of victims at this point due to the fact that body parts are scattered 300 meters away from the location of the attack.
Ansarullah spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam condemned the attacks stating that they are proof of Riyadh’s military failures on the ground:
“There is a great disregard for the Yemeni blood, and the Saudi regime bought the United Nations positions with money. The Saudi regime will drown in the blood of Yemenis, and targeting markets is unjustified. The cries of the world from a [Yemeni] missile targeting Riyadh reveals the hypocrisy and silence in front of hundreds of arrogant crimes.”

„Der zionistische Feind hat die Vereinbarung zur Beendigung der Aggression, Aufhebung der Blockade und Beendigung der Hungersnot verletzt.“ Mehr als zwei Wochen zuvor hatte er bereits sein Versprechen gebrochen, die Lieferung humanitärer Hilfe nicht zu behindern.– Seit der Wiederaufnahme des Völkermords wurden Hunderte Palästinenser getötet, die meisten von ihnen Kinder und Frauen.– Der Feind hat…
