♊ ― “I saw that going differently in my mind.”
His voice trembled. "Elijah... I... I... I'm scared." He whispered.
"I know, Niklaus," he responded and held on to him. "But you are safe. I have you now."
He gripped Elijah's shoulders tightly and closed his eyes. "Where is mum and dad?"
Oh, Elijah didn't want to tell him. "They are gone, Niklaus."
Nik held onto Elijah tightly. Eyes wide as he did. His lower lip quivered and he buried his face into Elijah's chest. "This place... Is terrifying, Elijah." He whispered.
Elijah made a small sound and hugged his brother, closing his eyes. "I know brother, but I will protect you. I am here for you," he responded and kissed the top of his head.
He came in and looked up at Elijah wide eyed. "What happened to you? Where's all your hair?" He was still shaking. "Elijah... Wh-what's happened? Where am I?" His voice was quivering.
"It is a long story," he commented and looked at the younger visage of his brother, letting out a breath. "It is the modern age, I no longer wear my hair long," he said and moved to pull his brother in toward him. "You are safe. You are with me. Do you understand?"
A few hours later something weird happened. There was a knock on Elijah's door. There was a loud thud on the door, his head was turned downwards, long blonde hair covering his face. He was shaking, wearing out of date clothes. He lifted his head when the door opened. "Eli-Elijah?" His voice shook, eyes wide in fear.
Elijah debated on not answering it; it was one of the insipid young vampires looking for answers to questions he would not answer. But -- he moved toward the door and looked down at the young man in front of him; raising his brows. "Niklaus?" he questioned; it was all wrong -- it was his brother but it was -- wrong. "Come now, come," he reached for him quickly to bring him into his apartment.
He turned in Elijah's grasp and growled back. "Just as you got comfortable with Katherine, with Celeste, with all those filthy women along the line." He snarled. "Do not touch me again, Elijah." He yanked himself from his brother's grasp.
"You do as you wish Niklaus and no one else is allowed to. You are the grandest hypocrite," he growled. "You do as you wish, but when your plan to dethrone Jackson backfires, do not come to me and expect me to clean the mess for you."
He set his jaw. "Hayley's the object of your desires. Forget I ever spoke to you." Oh. More Jealousy and anger. He turned on his heels and stormed out.
Elijah growled and followed him, grabbing his brother before looking into his face. "Stop it. Considering you are making eyes at Camille every second you get a chance and do I need to remind you of the redhead?" he growled. "So do not get catty with me."
