I'm so sorry anon but the way you asked this made me laugh a bit XD; It's actually really simple but highly dependent on Rire's mood: a person has to be very interesting to Rire! VERY interesting, more so than normal, and then he would consider marking them. Consider the difference between deciding between engraving your details on something more average vs something very expensive.
In dire situations, Rire is constantly calculating how to come out on top; so honestly I think if he was ever reduced to a "zombie like state" then he's probably faking it to try and gain the upper hand. If he thinks he's really screwed he'd actually be even more aggressive trying to get out of it.

He'd find it very droll at first and then potentially intrigued depending on what they do. Everything's a bit of a balancing act with Rire.

Photoshop CC 2018 ^^ it was a very simple animation so Photoshop was perfect for it. However, for more complex animations with a lot of movement I use Adobe Animate (used to be called Adobe Flash)

Technically less a Fallout AU and more a generic zombie AU Rire lol. For context this is a human Rire (sometimes Headmaster!Rire) who becomes the leader of a small survival compound. For all intents and purposes it's a good place to be during an undead apocalypse...well just don't get on Rire's bad side. He...has his ways of dealing with dissidents.
My bench line is that he is pretty strong and stronger than all my other characters except for Zeke (who canonically can carry .D, Izm, Wei Ren and Marcus simultaneously). This does however not take into account Rire's ichor.
Oh, you could say it's one potential branch of BTD canon haha. If you can find his cameo in Gato's TPOF π
Strange and unusual according to whom lol? I mean if you're human then someone wearing sunnies (and obvs not being blind) all the time might be odd, if you're a demon a Royal willingly spending a chunk of their time in the human world is odd etc. There's a lot of and/or that could be applied depending on which POV it is XD

π€ Interesting q! Although, in that time period the earliest form of spectacles would be invented in Europe, and China technically had sunglasses made from smoky quartz then. Since country borders physically mean nothing to Rire I'd imagine he would just get the Chinese sunglasses at that point, or wear a large hooded travelling cloak or something (anime style where it somehow shadows the whole top half of one's face lol).
Veils in 12-13 century Europe were predominately considered women's clothing so wearing something like that would be negatively viewed and make him stand out way too much.
It would actually be something from the Nether as that's where he grew up and would've had more sweets as a child! I do like making up food maybe I should make some Nether dishes one day hmmmmmm.
He likes some of them but not others - they don't have any meaning to him so it's just vibes. For eg he likes Halloween as the whole (modern) concept of it is amusing to him, doesn't like things like Christmas or Easter for obvious reasons XD

I actually havent doodled in a while so here's a few that i did in the past several days to tide you guys over! XD
I can actually as other people have done some great fanarts of this! Here's my rendition and I'll link some of the other arts below :) Imagine the yellow rings only show when he is provoked or hunting.
The economy works similarly though they also have a pretty robust bartering/trade system with "commodity money" to deal with the currency differences between other sectors (it's usually easier doing this than having to change money). The worth of a sector's currency or very specific commodity money is tied to its net worth or rarity.
I dont have an equiv for real world values as in universe if demon or human currency crosses the Gate it would be tied to rarity or price of the material weight. Tbh i also dont have a name for any demon currencies XD

Tbh Rire's preference for humans is considered weird ever since he became a Royal XD Not that he denies visiting Earth or anything though so that's an open secret.
1) Rire cant get summoned he comes to you on his own time XD But for the meme's sake hmmm; a very good strong tea, "something that you think would interest him" [item never specified in any manual so you have to think of it yourself], and his particular summoning sigil to be drawn with some of your own blood*.
*The blood is actually not required, he just finds it extremely entertaining that people think it is.
2) So I was looking at yellow gemstones and...look at this kind of colour cat's eye Chrysoberyl. DOES IT NOT LOOK FAMILIAR?! :O Also rich golden to honey coloured cat's eye Chrysoberyls are expensive so it's perfect.
3) Depending on how he viewed you - if you are not a danger to him (eg you're a human) then this would be very interesting to him! I mean, he might be a little bit miffed initially because what but then it would be something new and not easily broken and fun. On the other hand with things that could potentially be a problem (eg other Royals or Royal contenders etc) this would be an...undesirable outcome. He would be more wary and annoyed then lol.
He can actually tell if his victims are not human at the very least, so if there's gonna be any genuine reaction (that's not him playing a role) it would be towards what kind of demon they are.
Rire might pity others bad decisions. But it doesn't mean he'll actually show pity or not use it to his own advantage somehow.
If you're asking if he could be interested, then yes, the individual just has to be...interesting to him in some way. His species is cross compatible with some other demon species.
It is not but you are correct in thinking that it does look like his eyes because I designed it that way XD It was a hint hint nudge nudge wink wink to his true nature considering that you would see him with the sunglasses 90% of the time.
I did see someone draw a similiar headcanon of your ask idea though (but it was something like the cravat pin contained a soul as decoration which could look at you) and it was pretty fun lol.
Listen, Rire doesn't care whether you agreed because you were tricked/under duress/refuse later/etc. That's just semantics; the important thing is that you agreed at some point :>
Technically he doesn't even need an agreement to do this, but it is the polite societal convention for his species and ensures the soul retains its flavour.

π Good news to anyone waiting for it - I am making a webcomic for BP! I'm currently working on chapter 2 :) Not sure where I'll post it yet but i'm thinking of making a website somewhere, crossposting here and maybe on an webcomic platform but I'll see about that.
The bad news is i dont plan on posting anything until I hit maybe chapter 4 (...as i need to do more thumbnails after that). I've only managed to work on it intermittently and there's no schedule for it so i figure it would be better to have a bank of pages first to post over time |D

His full name is Hunter Grimshaw, which was actually a very on the nose joke name I gave him that ended up sticking. He's in his 30s, has tattoos on his upper arms, and his scar came from his line of work as a Battle Priest. Apparently gives like...tired and judgemental country outdoors vibes to my friends XD
Grimshaw's personality can kinda be understood in that as a BP, depending on what the demon is doing, he might just shoot them instead of exorcising them properly.
Because it's more efficient or he really can't be fucked.
And then not fill out the paperwork for firing the gun or tell anyone he did that (since they are supposed to be the last resorts).
Well, he is a BP so the objective I guess is to hunt down bad demons lol.

Hey Baiddy! I do enjoy thinking of associated foods for my characs and I've actually been asked about specific category ones over time :D Here are some of the more common flavours/foods etc that have been "assigned":
Ren: Lemon or lemongrass flavours, lychee [icecream]
Izm: Mint choc chip flavour, cherry [fruit], rocky road
.D: Strawberry flavour (more tart then super sweet)
Zeke: Coffee flavour, tiramisu, butter pecan [icecream], kiwi [fruit], bacon (in BP lol)
Technically, they don't earn anything. They get a living allowance from their HQ for personal expenses. It balances out due to HQ providing working expenses and other benefits.

Yes, demons can own legit businesses (eg Zeke's parents run an inn/lodge - it does welcome humans but their main clientele are other demons) and humans and demons can work together in the same place (eg Desmond's club). Any place with demon workers though are subject to a secondary level of scrutiny (the Battle Priests and the orgs they are connected to).
It's difficult to get things to and from the Nether so that's not a chosen business venture lol.

XD; If I were to fake real explain this I would say that he has some random dark red/copper strands that are only really noticeable when his hair mass thins out at the longer edges like on his bangs. So if his hair got cut it would still have the red ends in similar places.
I've actually toned down how I draw his hair, it was a running joke about how his hair defied gravity in the early days haha.
I don't read fanfic for fandoms I very specifically read fanfic for whatever characters I decide I like enough to fixate on XD Which may have no basis on my interest in the rest of the media lol. For eg most recently I've been reading Marvel and old school NCIS fanfics (cos I like the Tonys, that's about it) and TF2 fanfics (cos I like the support class and the ridiculous lore that doesnt take itself seriously).
Oh for sure, mainly from my friends though π₯° For eg here is a friend's fanfic that was written for the Royal!Au (where Izm is a prince and .D is his bodyguard set in a more medieval fantasy type setting).

I drew Demon Strade from memory and have absolutely 0 recollection how big he actually is lmao. Side note the subtitle for this in my head was "it's dangerous to go alone take this" except its not Strade saying it XDD)
Rire will put someone into any position he feels like (because honestly manoeuvrability is not a problem for him) so lets just say...a lot of them.

I would say that he mostly travels (as sometimes it also depends on who/what he's collecting and whether anyone is technically looking for him - ie did someone murder these people wth?). Keep in mind that one of Rire's powers is that he can, essentially, step sideways into a Gate in one country, navigate a void space for a few minutes/seconds, and then exit from another Gate somewhere in another country lol.
There's a bunch of different AUs/verses (because i like sticking my characs in them for fun) where he's technically an "ordinary guy" and to answer your question in ever single one of them he is in some position of power :d Eg: Headmaster, mafia boss, compound leader in a zombie apoc, high ranking military official, rich and popular college kid (this one somewhat debatable as BTD!College AU doesnt specify whether Rire is actually human or not XD) etc.

Every single Royal in the Nether is considered a dictator and Rire is no exception. His subjects consider him one of the more preferable ones because a) kind of leaves them alone for the most part, b) if he is inflicting terror on them/someone it's usually for a reason (as far as they know) and c) the economy has been doing great since he came into power.
You can consider Rire more of an...acquirer. Meaning that if he can't do something, he has an extensive network of people who owe him a favour or several that might be able to. Also loopholes exist hahahahah
If he's not exchanging for your soul, he's folding you into this network, that's how he works.
Rire's ego is not so big that he wouldn't be calculatively thinking about how best to exploit this |D
Oh yeh he def has servants to do a bunch of stuff for him! However, he has only been a Royal for a relatively short amount of time so he does actually know how to cook etc by himself if required.

Nah he heals pretty well. Also I feel like if he did get a serious enough wound that looked like it was going to scar then he'd use some sort of medical cream or whatever to make sure it didnt.
He'd be a little shit and vague about it ("oh somewhere quite far from here"), and if people keep trying to guess would literally give his Sector name from the Nether and later agree that it's in one of the random countries that were being guessed. Ah but so well hidden you won't be able to find it on a map, sure, try if you want.

The sense factor for this essentially π«²π»"is a demon (and a feeling of how powerful they might be)" and π«±π» "is not a demon" which usually means a human lol. For your qs case, maybe only if said human was exceptionally powerful (so that the oddness registered as something "off" human) OR if they were using said power at the time (as happens with Battle Priests).
I haven't thought about a lot of things and i can clinically say that's one of them lol.
