waiting for answers
Waiting for God to answer your prayer can feel like the loneliest and most broken moment of your life. Calling out to the Lord to please just change something by the morning, only to wake up to find that everything has stayed the same. You're stuck in the same situation, the same depression, the same hole. We so easily want to turn our fist to the sky and curse the Lord. "How could you do this to me?" "How could you ignore me?" "What have I done to deserve this?"
But I promise you, this is not the case. Many times, we are praying something into our life that we are not yet ready to receive. God meets us where we are, not where we think we could be. If something you want does not align with what God has planned for you, or it is simply just too early, He is not just going to hand it to you just to pacify you.
The struggle, the pain, the loneliness. These are all things that we battle while the Lord is working behind the scenes to forge us in fire and bring us out stronger and better than before. It is only after the Lord forges, can he give us what we are asking for. And most of the time, what we prayed for prior to being strengthened is not even what we want anymore.
Keep your eyes on the Lord. Do not be angry if you do not get what you want. Do not be jealous if someone else gets what you've been praying for. Stand firm in your faith and ask the Lord to pour into you what you need instead of what you want. I find that when you do that, you find something that is much better than you could have ever imagined.
