FOR THE ARTISTS ASKS, 2, 15, 24, 16, 18 >:3c
HELL YEH2. How long have you been drawing?-Butts and dang, I’ve been drawing since I was a young’un! (as in, before double-digits young. My eldest sister drew, so I wanted to also.) I really started to pick it up in middle school, and then drawing-and-sharing went into full burst around high school.15. How long does an average piece take you to complete?-Like… ten freaking hours, I swear. Really, I suppose it depends heavily on whether I’ve drawn a character or not before (going off the reality that most of what I draw is fan art)… Even characters I’m quite comfortable drawing, it can take me a couple of hours for each stage of drawing (sketch, line, color/shade).I really would put my guess at around 6-10 hours, which makes me kind of baffled that I don’t get more done. Sad!24. Do you feel jealous when you see other people’s art, or inspired? (Be honest!)-Oh dude, it’s a little of both!! It varies, I used to always get inspired, but in more recent years there really have been times I’ve seen some art and just… wanted to give up, because I’ll never be that good. I’m really not sure what makes the difference in reaction!16. Do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less?-Sheit, somebody tell ME. I… I want to say less. Of course, then I consider that most of the drawing I did like, back in high school was doodles and whatnot, whereas nowadays I’m producing more “full art”. Hmmm.Still might classify it as “less”.18. What are you currently trying to improve on?-Dang, I’m kinda flip-flopping on “anatomy” and “color theory” (since I am MADLY shit at the latter). In particular, I’d like to learn how to better draw the legs I (in a previous ask) mentioned not being very good at.This is kinda side-topic-ing, but I think it would be cool to do the kind of life-drawing sets that Adam Warren does as practice. I’m worried about smudging the hell outta some graphite though, heheh. Thanks for askin’ Hayleyyy!!
