Oh leading up to Sylus' release there was this Instagram post about going to college for crows or something. Getting a degree in crows. The last line of the post was something like "you too can be a leader in crows" so I made that throwaway line my whole identity 🐦‍⬛

Oh it could be any made up science fiction reason, we don't know every single thing that happened to them in that lab, or if they totally obliterated mc once (which they totally would risk if they had successfully cloned her) and she had to regrow or something. If I was testing out an child who could come back from the dead I'd probably freeze her, which if caleb was already alive he'd keep aging while she stayed the same. Also we're assuming caleb aged at a normal rate instead of some wacky science shenanigans that could force him to age faster, because I'm assuming you'd rather experiment on a sturdier 5 yr old than a baby that can't hold its head up. Maybe someones got a fucky time control evol.
