it only takes a taste is a kit/cinderella great british bake-off au i'm writing at. some point. i spent ages thinking up which other disney characters all the contestants should be, what the theme for each week would be, and who gets eliminated at the end of every week (with one or two shock twists)

6. are your projects driven more by character or plot?

character, definitely. the character informs the plot, but the characters almost always come first

10. which patterns keep popping up in your projects/characters?

close but complicated relationships with parents, trauma, healing, love, and i know it's half a joke at this point but really can't be stated enough, beauty and the beast

yeah, definitely! it's kind of basic, but i have things associating belle with iron and metal; in the chapter i'm writing now, kit and the captain are having an argument while they practice sword-fighting, stuff liek that

Peridot: What is your protagonist’s greatest strength / weakness

ok, quick and dirty bc we have 4 protags:

Adam: Devoted to the people he cares about / has very little self-awareness

Kit: Kind and genuine, sees the best in everyone / sees the best in everyone, sometimes refuses to see the worst

Belle: Brave and headstrong / Sharp-tongued, stubborn

Ella: Kind and loving / Passive

Jasper: What is your antagonist’s greatest strength / weakness

quick and dirty bc the antagonists aren't super relevant yet so i haven't thought much about them lmao

Gaston: Strong and charismatic / Hypocritical

The Duke: Loyal, hard worker / Sees others as pawns

🤔 What’s one genre you’ve never written that you’d like to try?

i'd love to write some kind of dramatic story, like a space opera or something -- with big stakes and like, war and stuff. mostly because it would be very cool to write, and in my current genres the conflict tends to be more interpersonal, and even when it does spill over into violence it tends to stick between two people
