Very true but I don't think it's intended to be about familial love - I think it's suppsosed to be about the unique (and at times obsessive) bond between these two brothers particularly. One man's squick is another's problematic fave and all that.

Really, I have codependency problems. Sam and Dean’s relationship is what gives me the strength to actually work through those issues because defend it all you want, that shit fucks you up and it’s not cute. It’s not something you should want to strive for. That’s that type of shit you shouldn't want near you in a 1000 mile radius.
