let us all mourn when this was five and lila's dynamic 😭
and you know what else? tipsy five and tipsy lila holding hands was really special to me until season 4 rolled around
Today I cried over TUA for the first time in ages because I remembered the part of S3 where Five asks Lila to give him the room after he sees his older self die.
He's so dignified in that scene, voice not quite breaking. There's so much mutual respect between them in that emotional moment.
So why did the writers have to fuck up what was a perfectly understated, poetic and platonic relationship between them?
Why? Why? I feel about S4 like the pope probably feels about the book of Mormon. False prophets! Heresy!!
'i can teach you to shave like a big boy'
upon re-watch i- *muffled screams*
Today I dreamt that in season 4, Diego, Lila, and Five went to the beach (a plan by Diego to try and make the other two get along (they know it's a plot but went along anyway))
Diego spent his time building a big sand castle, which by the way looked terrible.
Five was mesmerized by the sea so he just spent the afternoon letting the water touch his feet, and playing with the waves (he would deny this later).
Lila went back and forth between them, and collecting rocks and sea shells that looked pretty.
She wanted to swim in the ocean, like kinda far away from the shore, and proposed the idea. Diego pretty much accepted right away but Five didn't want to because he is kinda afraid of it (my reasoning here was that he'd never seen the sea and while he was fine touching the water, he wouldn't go past from where it reached his knees) but of course he didn't say that, why would he be scared of water don't be stupid, but they teased him anyway, and went swimming without him for a bit.
Diego ended up with a sunburn, Lila and Five bonded over making fun of him, and they were all friends.
I remember waking up and thinking "huh, that would've been better than the Fivelila romance crap we got"
"I have every right to ship Five and Lila 😾😤😠"
Okay, I have every right to eat my own shit, that doesn't mean I'm gonna do it?
How do you block a tag? I wanna block the whole section of fivela/five x lila
They keep popping up on my search and I don’t want to exert more energy or emotional reaction seeing it.
I finally had the heart (or a long plane ride) to watch The Umbrella Academy season 4 after being told by everyone I knew that the ending was awful and I have to say…
The ending wasn’t even close to the worst part for me!!!
What works in TUA formula is the characters all either do solo or paired up missions where they all find info and meetup in the end. This time, Klaus’ plot did nothing, not even for his character development. And Alison? Like her whole plot was just looking for Klaus???? Ray who?
Then don’t even get me started on the awful Lila and Five scenes. I had to skip through them. The beginning of the season where it was a gag “haha Diego thinks Lila is cheating on him with Fives” was great. There was no reason for them to do that to Diego.
That brings me to the victims of season 4: Diego and Luther. Let’s just make Diego suffer without any payoff. And Luther is a stripper who lost the love of his life who barely gets a mention. He also just lives in the abandoned academy!
Victor was (thankfully) given a solid plot line with closure from Reggie. And even the concept of this cleanse back to the original timeline was cool, in theory.
But Jennifer was not explained, who she was, how she got the Durango, how she was in a squid??? And the connection with Ben? Shouldn’t all the Hargreaves be drawn to her because of the marigold?
There were so many holes and the ending was the only thing that made sense. Which is surprising, because the ending barely made sense.
