Holy shit Lucifer appeared not even 5 minutes in episode 4 yet my hate for him just grew in that short time! Alastor was just walking around pissed and he has nothing better to antagonize him for no reason

Mocking him for running away from the fight with Adam despite Lucifer knowing that Alastor doesn't stand a chance against an archangel and would have died if he didn't run away

Why is Lucifer even judging him like he only appeared at the end of the battle after sir pentious "died" only to save Charlie. Even if there are "rules" that he can't fight against the exorcist he could help different

Also him saying that he's helping Charlie while Alastor isn't,we saw Lucifer doing one thing to help her which is pulling her away from the interview which he probably could have handled better too! Like I can't remember Lucifer doing anything else to help the hotel

I don't have a problem if people like Vaggie or Husk put Alastor straight for how he helps Charlie and the hotel but Lucifer? The guy who talked down about her dreams while doing nothing for sinners or his kingdom. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Also him not knowing Angel dust's name like i also have difficulties remembering new people names but he's not only a very important sinner for the hotel but also one of Charlie's friends! He's still giving the vibes that he looks down on Sinners and even Charlie couldn't deny that he dislikes them

I hope Lucifer gets whiplash from Charlie like we see in much stress she's lately with everything and her father has nothing better to do then beefing with her hotel Horst which caused him to leave,yeah Lucifer that is a great way to fix your relationship

The only character right now i hate more than him is Vox who I can't even feel sorry for him anymore "But Alastor was rude and mean as he rejected him"

I don't care and I honestly think that it was better that Alastor was so cruel to him, yeah he could handle this more sensitive but Vox reminds me kind of a nice guy™,i think if Alastor wasn't that direct he would still have hope for a potentially partnership or romance

And even if Alastor was unnecessarily cruel doesn't excuse Vox's behavior towards him like he forced Alastor to watch Vox and Valentino fucking, this is fucked up in multiple ways

Even if Alastor wasn't asexual this behavior is just disgusting and creepy, it's going too far saying that it's SA?At least it proves that Vox and Valentino are a perfect match

Rosie and Vox both touching Alastor who is clearly uncomfortable with touching my poor deer, I know he isn't a good person either but this is something nobody deserves

But at least we had Charlastor crumbs with Alastor making sure Vox doesn't touch Charlie,i think it also is probably part of a plan from him but I take what I can. I heard the theory that Alastor is doing it to make Charlie save him and prove something to Lucifer,if this is true I am going to burst out laughing

But something which I actually like after everything we saw is that it makes Charlie's and Alastor's relationship feel more precious whatever romantic and platonic like in this episode Alastor was treated like a pet and object so I think that makes their relationship sweeter that Charlie treats him with respect and as his own person

Also that both of them seem comfortable with letting each other touch them while when other people touch Alastor that he looks so uncomfortable

I love that we can also add Vox to the list of people being Jealous of Charlie because of Alastor like Mimzy and Vox can make a club,i wonder how much he's pissed seeing Alastor being practically Charlie's business partner while shutting down his offer

I hope that this builds up to Charlie being the one ending up saving Alastor from Vox,if it actually is Lucifer saving him instead of her because for whatever reason I will get pissed

Also this has nothing to do with the plot but why did they get rid of humans Alastor's moustache 😭 i know people disliked it in the leaks but I loved it! I gave him personality and charm in my opinion,he gave me King dice vibes with it

Lucifer And Adam Have An Argument About If Short King Really Suffered The Most From His Actions As He Claims

Act I: The War of Words

The heavy oak door to Lucifer’s suite rattled on its hinges. Inside, the King of Hell and the First Man were locked in a screaming match, pacing the room like two toxic co-parents trying desperately—and failing miserably—to keep their baggage away from the kids.

Outside in the hallway, the entire Hazbin crew was pressed against the wood. Charlie was biting her lip raw, Vaggie stood guard with her angelic spear raised, and Angel Dust cradled Fat Nuggets like a shield. Alastor leaned on his microphone cane, his static hum buzzing with pure entertainment, while Husk nursed a cheap bottle of rye.

Lucifer (shouting): I'm the one who has to live with this shit! I'm the one who has to feel the fucking guilt all day, every day!

Adam (sneering): Oh, so you're the victim here? Poor little prince!

Lucifer (growling, eyes flashing red): Yeah! And I know that's not the woke, progressive, intersectionally appropriate thing to say down here, but I would say, yeah!

He slammed a fist against his chest.

Lucifer: I'm the one who has suffered the most because of the actions of Lucifer Morningstar!

Adam (stomping his boot): You’ve suffered?!

Lucifer: Yeah, I fucking have!

Adam (raising an eyebrow, laughing in his face): The most?

Lucifer (nodding sharply): The absolute most!

Adam (counting off on his fingers): Really, dude? More than, say... Eve? My fucking sons? The rest of my descendants—both the Winners upstairs and the Sinners rotting down here? How about the billions of people who have to suffer under the literal caste system you made just to benefit yourself and your little entourage of royal pricks? Satan, Beelzebub, Leviathan, Mammon, Asmodeus, Belphegor—

Lucifer (pointing a warning finger): Don't talk to me about any of them. Especially not Eve.

Adam: No, I wanna know! How are you the victim of their stories, huh? Especially Eve's!

Lucifer: Adam, I'm fucking serious.

Adam: Explain it to me, Morningstar! How do you feel guilt about you and Lilith taking advantage of Eve just because you thought you were 'helping' her, only to screw her over and doom our entire bloodline?

Lucifer (pure angelic red, teeth sharpening): Shut up.

Adam (retorting, stepping right into his face): Oh, it hurts? You feel a lot of guilt because she actually trusted you? Because she was seduced by your bullshit and had to suffer the consequences while you just showed her off like a stolen trophy to brag about? Just like you did with Lilith—

Lucifer (slamming his cane down): I fucking told you before, I never intended for any of this! Your lousy, shitty descendants abused my gift! And now I’m the one who’s forever punished to sit on this throne and look out the window just to see the absolute evil they do!

Adam (looking at him with pure disgust): So that's it. No accountability. Ever. It’s always gonna be the 'misunderstood dreamer' narrative you cling to so you don't have to admit you hurt people. You just want to make me and Heaven the bad guys so you can justify your own cosmic screw-up. Well, fuck off! You aren't some tragic scapegoat with good intentions, you were an arrogant, petty brat who used someone because you didn't get your way upstairs!

Adam poked Lucifer hard in the chest.

Adam: And if you really cared about Eve, where the fuck were you over the nine hundred years me and her had to survive on Earth together? Building human society from scratch, watching our kids become monsters, fighting a brutal world where our former animal friends were corrupted by the Fall! We don't even know where she is right now! You made a huge deal about free will and 'freeing' her from my so-called abuse, but in the end, she was just an afterthought to you. You're just a self-pitying piece of shit who's mad that his actions actually had consequences.

Act II: The Gallery Outside

In the hallway, the eavesdroppers shifted closer, practically breathing on the door.

Angel Dust (whispering, extra arms gesturing wildly): Damn. The First Man is really letting Apple Daddy have it. That is ten thousand years of pent-up, holy-turned-sinner baggage right there.

Rooster (nodding grimly): Honestly? Can't even blame the guy. You live through the history Father Adam did, you're gonna have some issues.

Charlie (wringing her hands, tears pricking her eyes): If it gets any hotter in there, I might just have to barge in. Adam could kill him!

Vaggie (tightening her grip on her spear): If Adam tries anything, I'll put him down. I won't let Adam harm a hair on your dad.

Alastor (leaning in, a sickeningly wide grin on his face): Oh, static nonsense, Vaggie! Don't ruin the fun. This is vastly more entertaining than the 1921 World Series! The New York Giants versus the Yankees had absolutely nothing on this!

Husk (taking a heavy swig from his flask): My afterlife has officially devolved into listening to two ancient, prehistoric farts scream about their exes behind closed doors. Oy vey.

Cherri Bomb (smirking, leaning against the wall): Man... if Adam weren't so painfully straight, you just know these two would be the kind of toxic exes who end up hate-slobbering all over each other.

Nifty (staring with her wide, manic eye, trembling with excitement): Oh, two old enemies fighting! I wonder if I can write an awesome, bloody fanfiction about this later!

Act III: The Final Blow

Inside, Lucifer’s eyes flared a dangerous, glowing purple.

Lucifer: Every single one of these wretched spawns came from your dick, Adam! I say it's your fucking problem they didn't turn out the way they should have! Maybe if you were actually the 'First Father' you pretend to be, Hell wouldn't be full!

Adam: Then why the fuck are you helping Charlie?! If you still hate my condemned spawn so much, why are you here? Look, I openly show my disdain for these losers—though admittedly, I've grown kinda close with a few. Spider Boy’s alright, the bomber chick has spirit, the rooster guy, fish face, even the grumpy cat guy. But you? You claim to be so supportive of your daughter's big dream, but you don't give a shit about the people in this hotel!

Lucifer: Because I am a good father! Unlike you! I love my child, and I will support her dreams unlike anything Heaven ever did for us! I will see this through, even if I find these sinners hard to stand!

Adam (bursting into a mocking, obnoxious laugh): Oh, so that’s it! It’s just Charlie. Everyone else here is just a peasant beneath your grand royal notice, right? That's what you really think. You don't know their names, you don't care how they ended up here, and you don't give a rat's ass about their struggles! You're just projecting your own issues onto your daughter to get back at the Seraphim who rightfully kicked your ass out!

Adam stepped back, adjusting his new, tattered sinner clothes with a sneer.

Adam: Gosh, this is exactly why your daughter's dream is gonna fail, dude. Your kind of 'support' is just enabling destructive behavior instead of correcting it. I've had to clean up your messes because you didn't want to actually rule this place, and then you want to act like a hero for stopping the Exterminations? Even though you signed off on them in the first place! Yeah. At the end of the day, accountability is a foreign word in Hell. So, fuck you. A real father doesn't just enable. He tries to make people better, not act like he's the biggest fucking victim in the universe.

Act IV: The Aftermath

With a violent shove, Adam slammed the door open, nearly sending Angel Dust, Charlie, and Nifty tumbling to the floor. He stopped, staring down the entire gallery of hotel residents.

Adam (glaring): Don't you dopes have lives?

Alastor (stepping forward, his radio filter tilting into amusement): You certainly put on a spectacular show for the masses, old sport!

Charlie (glaring sharply at Alastor before turning back to Adam, her voice soft and trembling): Um... Adam... that was... a lot to unload.

Vaggie (heaving a heavy sigh, looking disappointedly at her weapon): Too bad. I really wanted to use this.

Charlie (nudging Vaggie's arm, pleading): Adam, please. We can talk about this. Together. As a hotel.

Adam (growling, turning his back on them): You can't. You wouldn't get it. None of you do... except maybe my sort-of favorites here. Just leave me the fuck alone.

He stormed down the hallway, slamming his own bedroom door so hard a light fixture shattered in the corridor.

Inside the royal suite, Lucifer stood entirely still. The grandiosity—the theatrical smirks, the conjured rubber ducks, the fiery bravado—had vanished. He looked incredibly small. With a sharp flick of his wrist, a sudden burst of pure, blinding angelic energy surged forward, slamming his door shut with a deafening BANG that rattled the hotel's very foundations, locking the world out.

Paradise Lost Ramble

I finished reading John Milton's Paradise Lost for a podcast assignment, and I wanted to share some of my thoughts.

I know that many call the poem's Satan an anti-hero, but it really does deeper than that.

Milton didn’t accidentally make Satan look like a hero. He did it on purpose.

And not to glorify him, but to critique the very idea of what we call a “hero.”

It's no secret that Milton took inspiration from the ancient poets Homer and Virgil, and he gave Satan several traits that define them.

Like Achilles, he's prideful.

Like Odysseys, he's cunning.

Like Aeneas, he's a charismatic leader.

These are the qualities we’re used to admiring. We cheer for them. We aspire to have them.

And that’s exactly the problem.

Because in Satan, those traits aren’t heroic anymore. They’re pushed to their extreme.

Pride becomes defiance against God.

Cunning becomes manipulation and deceit, leading to Adam and Eve sinning.

Leadership becomes the ability to rally others toward ruin, like taking a third of Heaven's Angel down with him after his rebellion failed. And yet, they sill follow him.

His speech that rallies the fallen angel is painted as a fallen hero getting back on his feet, but then you have to remind yourself who's speaking.

Satan isn’t a hero that went wrong. He’s what those heroic ideals look like when we don’t give them any kind of moral restraint.

And it’s that familiarity that makes him unsettling.

So if Milton is critiquing heroic ideals, why do so many readers still see Satan as a hero—or at the very least, an anti-hero?

The answer is that Milton made him sound like one. Perhaps too good.

In Paradise Lost, Satan is one of the most compelling speakers. He’s confident, persuasive, and defiant. Even after being banished, he delivers one of the poem’s most infamous lines:

“Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven.”

On the surface, it sounds powerful. Even admirable.

He comes off as a figure declaring eternal opposition to an unjust authority—someone whose independence and defiance can earn admiration, especially from those who feel powerless.

But that interpretation only works if you stop there.

Because the moment you actually read the epic and look closer at his words and actions, things take a darker turn.

In Book 1, he openly declares:

“To do aught good never will be our task, But ever to do ill our sole delight…”

And then:

“Our labour must be to pervert that end, And out of good still to find means of evil.”

This isn’t confusion. It isn’t a moral struggle

It’s a conscious choice to oppose goodness itself, to commit evil for the sake of doing evil.

Even when something good could come from tragedy, Satan’s goal is to twist it, undo it, and corrupt it.

And that’s where the “anti-hero Satan” side falls apart.

An anti-hero without any moral framework is just a villain.

He’s not fighting injustice. He’s not seeking freedom.

He’s so consumed by his way that he wants to make everything else fall with him.

As long as God loses, he’s satisfied.

And at that point, the question isn’t whether he’s admirable:

it’s why we ever thought he was.

When he declares, “Evil, be thou my good,” he is not stepping into ambiguity—he is committing himself to corruption.

His goal in tempting Adam and Eve is not liberation, but shared downfall. He does not want humanity to be free—he wants them to fall with him.

And this is why comparing him to Prometheus, a supposed trickster figure, doesn’t really work either.

Yes, they both defy a higher power, suffered for it, and changed humanity.

But their motivations couldn’t be more different.

Prometheus suffers for humanity.

Satan suffers because of himself.

Prometheus gives fire knowing it will cost him everything.

Satan spreads sin knowing it will destroy everything.

Prometheus resists injustice. He doesn’t try to overthrow Zeus—he simply defies him to help humanity.

Lucifer does what he does out of petty spite.

And that difference matters, because it changes how we judge them.

Prometheus is remembered as a benefactor.

Lucifer is not.

There’s a reason one is celebrated in myth, has a festival named after him, and the other is met with hesitation when called a “hero.”

Even their divine oppositions reflect this contrast.

In Prometheus Bound, Zeus is flawed, unpredictable, even unjust at times.

But in Paradise Lost, God is not depicted as corrupt or tyrannical. He is presented as just, omniscient, and wholly good, alongside Jesus Christ.

So while Prometheus rebels against flawed authority—

Satan rebels against perfect goodness itself.

One brings fire to humanity.

The other brings ruin.

Even through the lens of Carl Jung’s trickster archetype, Satan doesn’t quite fit.

Tricksters exist outside traditional ideas of good and evil. They disrupt order, but often create transformation.

Satan doesn’t.

He doesn’t blur morality—he rejects it.

Tricksters create change.

Satan commits to corruption.

He isn’t a balance between good and evil.

He is the rejection of good altogether.

In that sense, he aligns more with the shadow—the darker side of human consciousness, the voice that pushes toward destruction rather than growth. He's akin to the "Devil on your shoulder" saying.

So if he isn’t a hero, and he isn’t a Promethean figure, then what is he?

The closest answer is that he is a tragic figure, but not a tragic hero in the classical sense.

Like Achilles, he is defined by pride. Like many epic figures, he is powerful, larger than life, unforgettable.

But Achilles eventually lets go of his rage and becomes something more.

Satan doesn’t.

He doesn’t fall because of a mistake or a moment of weakness.

He falls because he refuses to stop falling.

Even after defeat—after recognizing what he’s become—he continues.

“Which way I fly is Hell; myself am Hell.”

At that point, his suffering is no longer just punishment. It becomes his identity.

And that is what makes him tragic.

Not because he is misunderstood, but because he understands exactly what he is doing… and continues anyway.

Milton doesn’t ask us to admire Satan.

He asks us to recognize how easily pride can disguise itself as heroism.

But Paradise Lost does not end with him.

It ends with humanity.

Through the Archangel Michael, Adam is shown a future shaped by loss, struggle, and mortality... but also hope.

He's promised that suffering is not the end of his children's story. Yes, things get worse before they get better, but there's light in the end of the tunnel.

In that sense, Milton’s epic is not really about Satan’s rise or fall.

It is about what remains after the fall.

Because even in a world marked by disobedience and exile, there is still the possibility of grace, endurance, and renewal.

So Satan may dominate much of the poem—but he does not define its meaning.

Paradise was lost.

But it will not be lost forever.

I don't think it's a surprise that Lucifer pissed me the eff off this episode. He was acting like such an immature school bully, pretending to be in the middle of a conversation with Angel. And he apparently doesn't even know Vaggie's name yet! Angel's name is understandable, but Vaggie's? I know she's trying to come up with a new name but didn't she say Vaggie is fine till then? Just pretty infuriating

Also, I might be making a assumption here, but I couldn't help but notice that it seemed like Lucifer already had the deer season mug before Alastor even showed up

Makes me wonder if Lucifer is the one that started the mug thing. His mug does have a lot more effort seemingly put into it though my husband's vandalism is in line with his usual art style and considering his current state, I don't really expect him to make something professional looking

Also I'm immensely annoyed that no one called Lucifer out for being late. His daughter could have died while he was dawdling and he's antagonizing the guy who risked his life to keep his daughter safe. Okay

I get he has depression and stuff, but Lucifer really needs to start acting like a king instead of a child. He's supposed to be super powerful or whatever and he's picking fights with people who would be the equivalent of like, I dunno, a grade schooler or something

I really hope he learns something soon because he is infuriating me
