It’s been years since the last time I used watercolour for illustration, so I’m a little rusty with transparent media (thank you for your existence, gouache 🥹). Under these, you will see the thumbnail/ planning, process, mediums I used, and the failed pieces lol 😂

Everytime I touch watercolours, they keep reminding me the reason why I left their ass alone for years 😂 They might as well be my reason to start digital.

Omg!!!! The girls are starting their own CULTS in Heaven's Secret 3! So proud! Hopefully, Audrey gets to do an exchange year in Lane's cult cause this one seems more fun

HS3 is WAY too dark. it genuinely feels like every update the authors are competing with each other to see who can write the most upsetting, triggering shit, and i just can't with this anymore. TW below the cut: suicide. don't expand this if it's going to upset you.

chapter 25 was literally distressing to the extent that i had to put it down and walk away because i felt sick. i have NEVER had to do that before. but reading something where we're in audrey's head while she decides that death will be the answer to all of her pain, making the decision to commit suicide, writing a suicide note, choosing a location to die, and then actually slicing her arms up to the elbows, and then we see her sprite with those bloody wounds, because of course we do...god. yeah. that fucking did it.

it wasn't described particularly graphically. this wasn't a 13 Reasons Why situation. thank god this was an audrey chapter and not a lane chapter, because sasha would have absolutely made it so much worse than elena did. but still, it made me feel sick, deep down in the pit of my stomach, in a way that i do not ever want to feel while i'm reading what's supposed to be a romance book.

and i read spoilers--i know what's coming in a future chapter. apparently we get to read detailed depictions of young children being experimented on and tortured by uphir. i'm a mother. i have a child who's about the age of the youngest child--the one who the book keeps reminding us is constantly distressed because he was taken from his parents. and now the book wants us to read about that poor little boy being tortured.

i know i don't have to read it, so don't come for me with "jUsT sTOp ReADinG thE BoOk IF yOU hATe iT!!!" i know that. i'm not an idiot. what i just do not fucking understand is why these authors are doing this! who seriously saw the HSU and thought to themselves "you know what this universe really needs? first person POVs of suicide and child experimentation! that sounds fun!"

i just want to read a book that actually has a lot of characters i love without being literally sickened and crying about children being tortured.
