Before NDMC season 2 drops, my predictions
Arius is after something in hell that he can make "renewable energy" out of. That's one of his stated goals because he's an evil capitalist after oil--I mean, renewable demon energy. This would serve a double purpoe of virtue signalling about "green energy" as well as hamfisted commentary about oil states in the middle east.
Dante is going to forgive Lady almost instantly. I am not convinced she'll feel guilt for what she did either. She should feel guilt, but I do think that she's going to gift him Ebony and Ivory and he's going to forgive her pretty much. At least enough to work with her again with a relatively easy dynamic.
Vergil is going to be treated with a lot of sympathy and I don't think he's mind controlled at all, just manipulated. They are making him a full on sad boi instead of the architect of his own doom. One more, removing character agency... for some reason. Vergil has a lot of agency in 3, that's part of what's so interesting about him. At any point he could've accepted defeat and walk away, but he chose not to, and suffered for it. this Vergil seems to have been kidnapped as a child, and as such didn't really have any choice. (as, the choice between living and dying isn't much of a choice.)
Jester is going to show up in like, one or two scenes. Lady does get her scar, and obviously, it should be Jester who gives it to her, but Arius seems to be the focus, so I'm predicting he's going to be a season ending stinger. Maybe him telling Vergil about Temen-ni-gru and the secret to Sparda's power.
Lucia will have a glorified cameo. I predict that she will be undercover and have to break Dante and Lady out once they're captured. Her role won't be more than that and she might explain some exposition.
Arius has the order of the sword symbol on his jacket... why include order of the sword and no Nero (as including Nero at this point would be beyond superfluous) ??? This is less a prediction, more just, the Order of the Sword is going to exist I guess.
They don't do away with the "there's nothing supernatural going on" and come up with more convoluted explanations for why Dante can suddenly gain a ton of mass from no where. (this is one I hope is wrong, but I just don't trust them to understand this)
Race war!!!! (aka, reducing the conflict between demons and humans to that of a two races rather than one species that literally consumes human blood for power, and the other just fighting for existence.)
Bad pacing (almost granteed)
Okay, moving on to things that I don't actually think they would do, but can't put it past them...
weird sex stuff. All netflix animated shows seem to have weird sex stuff in them and I'm not about that. This point sort of ties into...
a love triangle of any kind. I'd rather no romance than a love triangle.
Killing Baines off before the story meant to because his VA died.
