Damn, getting into an Ibis after months made me feel like a human piloting a plane for the first time. Wow, how much could have changed?
I miss my digital pen but it decided to give me its death in return (눈‸눈)

(If there are any errors, I apologize; I'm sleepy and didn't have the patience to check for any mistranslations or misinterpretations.)
I'm just dropping by to say that nothing anyone tells me, or any angst Devil May cry fanfic you point out, absolutely nothing, will be more distressing than any fanfic that talks about Vergil still enslaved by Mundus (I refuse to call him by the title he was given when enslaved) and Nero as a child.
Wow, how is this possible? This man had his memories dismembered and mutilated in a way, saw a "perfect copy" of his mother being created from these fragmented memories, all to lure his brother to an island that's practically a portal to hell in the game. That's already disturbing enough for me; in reality, this man's entire life is a mess, but no, the fanfic authors on AO3 looked at this period of Vergil's life and decided to INCLUDE HIS SON, WHO HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW EXISTED, IN IT!! A CHILD WITH RELIGIOUS TRAUMAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORY!! The creativity of you writers scares and delights me like the muses inspired the ancient Greeks, and I thought my headcanons were too disturbing, but, my God, I'm going to face these fanfics as if they were my non-binary Roman Empire.
Wait a minute, could "trish" be considered a nickname for Beatriz? I understand it's generally used for the name Patricia, but if you really think about it, you can see the connection, which could indicate two things: either I'm delirious and losing my mind, or the DMC1 team is completely insane when it comes to referencing Divine Comedy.
Or was this just very obvious and I was the only one in this fandom who hadn't figured it out?
I have a very specific headcanon for Dante. Before he awakened his demonic abilities, he had diastema, and yes, only Dante had it. It was one of the ways to identify the twins as children. He loved his gap teeth; it was his charm. But then comes all that problem with temen ni gru, Vergil stabs him in the stomach with Rebellion, and boom, his demonic blood awakens and with it "fixes" any flaw in his body, be it any scar (you can only imagine what the hell this kid went through for that blessed regeneration of his not to have healed properly), trauma, injury, and to Dante's misfortune (my God, leave this boy alone), his diastema was included in that package.
Dante had a terrible episode of depression/rage when he looked in the mirror for the first time after Temen-ni-gru because, as if the image of his brother falling to hell and the throbbing pain in his hand even after healing weren't enough, now he's forced to see his brother's face in the mirror every day (the only mirror in Devil May Cry is broken with a fist mark hidden somewhere far away from Dante. He spends years avoiding looking at any reflection of himself, so imagine his surprise when, after a long time, he looks into a giant mirror only to see a copy of himself trying to kill him. Damn, wasn't Gilver enough already?!?)
(I apologize if there are any mistakes in my English, I swear I'm trying to communicate better in this language 🙏🥺)
Am I the only one who's totally obsessed with Nero's Red Queen? Like, okay, Yamato is amazing, but it's still a katana. I think a motorized sword that only someone with demonic power could wield is way cooler, plus it's much more stylish.
Who do you think is more yandere than Dante when it comes to his friends and family?
Are you saying that Dante has more yandere tendencies towards someone like me? Sorry if I didn't understand very well, English isn't really my strong suit. But if that's the case, it would definitely be Nero.
So, my best friend calls me for a mission on an island infested with demons and a cult that almost opens a portal to hell, but wait, I notice a very familiar scowl and hair that's too silvery to be anything other than a relative, and honestly, my scarce romantic relationships definitely didn't come from Fortuna. OH MY GOD, MY BROTHER LEFT A CHILD IN THE WORLD AND DIDN'T THINK TO TELL ME?!?!
Okay, screw this whole island and these damn cultists. If anything happens to this punk, I'll kill everyone on this island and then myself. But look at him behind me, how cute! He thinks he can catch me, and look how adorable he is discovering his demonic lineage. MY GOD, THESE DAMN CULTISTS HAD YAMATO TOO???! Aww, look how cute my nephew is using his father's sword even without knowing it 🥺
Sanctus is going to die today. That bastard will regret ever using my nephew to carry out his idiotic plans (how cute, Nero going to save his girlfriend, oh my god, how much of his life did I waste?!)
I feel that Dante's line of reasoning would be more or less this in DMC 4: him having the feelings of an abandoned puppy, very sad about losing a large part of his nephew's life, and the best he can do for this boy's life is to stay away and keep him safe from danger. He's seen too many people get hurt and die just for being near him (it also hurts him to have let Patty drift away; he loves that girl, but Dante is too depressed and self-flagellating to see how much Nero and Patty want his company. My God, Dante must be the most physically sensitive creature on planet Earth; his instincts crave the warmth of contact, whether from fights or hugs, but Dante doesn't care about himself enough to seek out that affection. I feel sorry for our poor demon hunter).
But if you ask me in general who has more yandere tendencies than Dante, I would answer that in Devil May Cry , at least, I think there wouldn't be anyone more problematic and willing to cause gigantic problems than Dante, without a doubt. Although many characters here have that potential, I mean, they kind of took a demigod in the form of a depressed/traumatized and somewhat demonic man, gave him all sorts of demonic powers and weapons, and said, "Now I want to see what happens." Look what happens! We have two of these, and they transform a school playground fight into a universal scale, literally turning it into everyone's problem, which wasn't worse only because Nero was there in the middle. So it's very difficult to say who would be more problematic and have more yandere tendencies than Dante because he kind of exaggerates the scale? He's an outlier, without a doubt. Although I think the people from RESIDENT EVIL are more mentally unbalanced (maybe some people from Final Fantasy and Castlevania, but then, as I said, on a less universal and dramatic scale).
x2 I find it quite strange that there isn't more platonic yandere like Dante because I see the guy becoming this after everything he's been through, especially if it's with his brother (I also see platonic yandere Nero… but for some reason I can't see Vergil as a yandere)
Yes! This man has already lost his mother, his brother (3 fucking times) and countless other friends mentioned only in the novels. Dante is definitely tired of losing and drowning his sorrows with Jack Daniels, pizza and strawberry sundaes don't work like they used to, so now all that's left for him is to kill everyone who tries to interfere with his relationship with the punk (Nero) or with anyone who becomes the target of his obsession.
I have to agree with this. Honestly, Dante, along with Nero, is probably the one who could become a yandere.
Dante lost his family, and in the novels (or was it the manga? Maybe both), many of the people he came to love died.
It wouldn't be surprising if he couldn't allow himself to lose any more, and if he had to kill to do it, he would absolutely do it.
Nero is a curious case because he's definitely very possessive and protective (even more so now that his devil has awakened) of what he considers his, and I'm sure he would be capable of killing to protect those he loves, which would be Kyrie, the children he adopted, Nico, V(?), Dante, Lady, and Trish.
No one can deny that these two would be yanderes considering what they've been through and how they would protect what's left.
…Damn it, how is it possible that Vergil is the sane one? I suppose his lack of social skills and the fact that he doesn't interact with people makes him more or less normal than his brother and son in the aspect of not killing humans unless it's collateral damage.
Actually, I have a very straightforward point of view about Vergil's platonic yandere tendencies. This is without going into too much detail about the demonic instincts and how they affect the relationships of all the Spardas (and also Trish, many forget that she's a demon too, so she probably has those instincts as well).
But I have the idea that Vergil just didn't have enough time to become a yandere with Nero because, honestly, nothing convinces me that this man didn't have very strong yandere tendencies in DMC 3 towards Dante. Like, how can you want to kill my brother? Only I have that right! Only I can stab my little brother and make him awaken his dormant demonic side, nobody else but me!
Even though Vergil had the mindset that Eve had only tried to save Dante and left him behind, this man was more than willing to bring his younger brother to his side! He literally offers Dante a partnership in the DMC 3 manga, if I'm not mistaken! So yes, it just took a little more time for Vergil to become a respectable platonic yandere for Nero, but with the quality time he'll spend with Dante in hell, I wouldn't be surprised if, upon returning to the human world, he's already inclined towards that (with a nice boost from Dante to top it off).
Poor Nero, having to deal with two totally unbalanced twins who are very capable of global destruction 😪 Kyrie should make plenty of food so everyone gets too full to think about murder, since she must have some experience with Nero's impatience and his instincts running high with anyone near her and the children (Nico is pretty much safer in this aspect).
(Sorry again guys English is not my first language, so I rely heavily on external translators. I apologize for any mistakes. 🥺🙏🙏)

Honestly, I don't know why there aren't more fanfics of Dante being a platonic yandere; now I feel forced to write a fanfic like that.
The problem is that this will be my first fanfic.
They are so cute, I love these cabbages
(I can't shake the feeling that they didn't think of cabbages and ankylosaurs when they made them this way).
(sorry guys English is definitely not my first language.)
