hey @staff if you have a moment to spare in-between banning trans women and breaking the core functionality of your site, maybe you'd like to stop running full-screen scareware ads on the mobile app?

I think it's funny whenever I suggest we get rid of ads everywhere that there's always someone who's like "but then how will you know what to buy?" and I'm like.... you let ADS TELL YOU WHAT TO BUY? like I just cannot imagine trusting corporations like that. ads lie to you. You know who doesn't? the delightful folks on r/buyitforlife and my gay mutuals on tumblr. how will I know what to buy? uh, I go shopping at stores I trust, and if I don't know where to look for those, I ask a human being. upsetting that this is novel concept.
Why the fuck is my dashboard being overrun by advertisements?
Every other post is an ad.
This roadside anti-advertisement in Washington (state) may at first appear to say nothing, but in fact carries an important message about air pollution that shouldn't be ignored. It was commissioned by the US federal government - a grand gesture that reflects growing national interest in the environment. "Non-Sign II" was created by Lead Pencil Studio and aims to remind us of our surroundings. It is a clever execution of the "clean air" idea, but I think the billboard would be more effective with a hanging message of two or three words. With the same aerial backdrop, it would not lose any impact.
