really hope it's a raccoon city survivor memento / promise ring with sherry & possibly Claire.
and that Leon didn't marry his groomer/the woman that has lied and betrayed him so many fucking times. He deserves so much better! I'd literally take anyone over Ada...she should realistically be rotting in jail for selling samples on the black market, working with umbrella, accessory to murder for all the lives lost due to said samples she stole, ect.
Core Toxic/Abusive Behaviors
Repeated betrayal and manipulation — She consistently uses Leon for her missions, lies about her identity ("just a civilian"), then betrays him once she gets what she needs (e.g., G-Virus sample in RE2, Plaga egg in RE4).
Consent violations: - RE2 -kisses him while he's dazed/shocked from fighting zombies (no enthusiastic or clear consent), then immediately steals from him while he's still reeling.
Theft and abandonment — Steals critical items (G-Virus pendant, Plaga sample) and leaves him for dead multiple times (buries him under rubble in RE2, fakes her death, ghosts after saves).
Love-bombing followed by discard — Saves him dramatically (chopper escape in RE2, rocket launcher in RE4) to create emotional attachment, then immediately betrays/abandons him, creating the classic intermittent reinforcement cycle.
Prioritizing mission/money over lives — Tells Leon to abandon 12-year-old Sherry ("she's lost") in RE2 because she's a liability. Works for Wesker and delivers viruses/parasites that cause massive outbreaks (G-Virus → RE6 Tall Oaks, Plaga → RE5 Uroboros), directly fueling the bioterror hell Leon spends his life fighting.
Emotional whiplash/gaslighting — Builds trust/flirtation, then yanks it away ("use the situation, not him" in her own words). Leon freezes/trauma-responds during intense moments, but fandom often spins it as "he wants it uwu" instead of recognizing freeze response.
Enabling ongoing trauma — Her actions (samples to Wesker/Umbrella) create more outbreaks → more missions → more PTSD for Leon. She contributes to the very cycle that keeps him broken and suicidal (RE2 file admission).
Why It Feels Abusive (Real-Life Parallels)
Classic abuser tactics: love-bomb → devalue → discard → hoover (save him dramatically to pull him back).
Double standards in fandom: If genders reversed (male spy doing this to female rookie), it would be immediately called grooming/assault/toxicity. Because it's a hot woman doing it to a man, it's often excused as "sexy tension" or "he likes it."
Leon's goodness is exploited: His protector instinct ("save one life") makes him vulnerable to her push-pull. He keeps forgiving/helping despite red flags, mirroring trauma-bonding.
Canon Progression & Growth
RE4 Remake shows him more "done": annoyed sighs, "I was hoping you'd stay out of this," and explicitly "this is where we go our separate ways."
