Acooridng to BAs Betty will be kidnapped in 5B which is why it will affect VA relationship and every character. Archie will save her and declare his love to her because Ras said that what BA share is very deep. 5B is for them

Do you think that BA is really done because BAs are too confident for 5B and are sure that Betty will be kidnapped and Archie will save her and realize he love her

according to bas archie was going to serenade betty at prom or lie about the cheating in 5.01.

according to bas archie was going to talk about betty at his father's grave in 5.02.

according to bas archie was sleeping with veronica while having feelings for betty in 5.03.

according to bas archie didn't flashback to betty because she belonged to his future and he was leaving behind veronica, jughead, the core four and fred, in 5.03.

according to bas, they would get a "reverse pops parallel" thing in 5.04, because according to bas, varchie would've remained besties for seven years.

according to bas, they would get a romantic first time in 5.05, before they heard about the shower sex ofc. then they'd have a pizza date. then they'd have all the screentime ever.

according to bas, archie was never going to want veronica again after having betty.

according to bas, archie was not going to be jealous of chad in 5.06 and was falling for betty during that bed scene.

according to bas, archie was using veronica for money in 5.07 and didn't talk to betty because they were fwb.

according to ba's archie would realize his feelings and going to declare his love in 5.08.

according to bas archie was going to give flowers to betty in 5.09.

according to bas kj looked so good for there not to be ba in 5.10.

do i have to go on? lol they've never been right a day in their lives. only that key party thing was a good guess, but still they thought archie would roleplay for betty after the party.

that being said, yes, i'm kinda confident that ba was put to a rest for the rest of the series. of course i don't have a direct line with ras to ask for his plans, but thinking betty is going to be kidnapped so archie can 'realize his feelings' after he didn't realize them while sleeping with her for a while and having the perfect opportunity to start something with her while they were both single, sounds to me like desperation.

don't you trust archie's feelings for veronica, btw? do you think he lied?

It's been clear to me that VA is the real epic love since the end 5x03. When that bus pulls away and Archie runs to the window and the camera pulls in on Veronica? I gasped at how amazing and tragic that moment was cus Jesus, Cami acted the crap out of that episode and people really need to recognise her talent. VA is amazing cus on paper they shouldn't really work but they do. They provide each other with the emotional depth and safety that others haven't allowed them to have. 1/2

Archie gives Veronica the benefit of the doubt & never first assumes bad of her. He understands her intentions & loves her fully. Veronica doesn't belittle Archie's intelligence, something both Betty & Jughead do continuously, instead she holds his hand & offers support but never blindly. BA is the idea that is expected but doesn't work in reality because neither Betty or Archie have been able to successfully see other fully for who they really are. The idea of each other blinds the reality. 2/2

yeah, archie and veronica have always been written as an epic love story full of obstacles and passion, and although they also do hurt each other from time to time, i love how it’s never abusive or toxic. they really want to be together but sometimes internal and external conflicts just won’t let them, but they work their way back always. it’s just undeniable.

and in the end, betty and archie see each other as a symbol of simpler times, of their lost innocence, which is valid and interesting as storytelling, but could never be real. they don’t know each other. they don’t want to know each other, they prefer seeing each other as their 8-year-selves forever, so they can always have something to hold on to and remind them of those days.

but archie and veronica’s love is raw, beautiful, and also rooted on actual friendship and love and admiration for each other. they really give each other what they need.

you always talk big game about fighting misogyny but only when it comes veronica. archie comics are misogynistic and ugly and archie is an asshole in the comics so flex. about comic varchie all you want. they’re trash

you, my darling, are so funny. have you ever even seen me arguing against ba and how one of my big problems with that ship IS the comics? probably not, because you’d also know that i am a beronica shipper in the comics. 

b*rchie, comics or no comics, is one of the most sexist ships of all times. 

archie is an asshole in the comics, yes, but with veronica at least the female character has the upper hand and is not seen, and used, as a second choice and a doormat. veronica isn’t written as having a borderline pyschopath behavior because of that relationship as betty has been time and time again. betty only loses around archie. ONLY LOSES. she gains nothing. he brings her nothing, he only takes. and i’d rather support a ship where the girl is written as strong and independent in it, than support the mess that is b*rchie, in almost every universe of that franchise, and in almost every tv show that got their girl-next-door trope and took it to the next level.

(almost - there are universes where they work - but those are few)

do you know that bughead exists exactly because ras was tired of seeing betty being someone’s second choice or being okay with it?

so, yeah, on the face of a fanbase that claims the ‘source material’ should be ‘respected’ and that’s why riverdale ‘owes’ to them to explore a relationship between betty and archie, a relationship that has always and will always suck, i will flex about comics varchie all i want, because that’s the het relationship that empowers the female character in this triangle. that’s the actual source material. i will never want archie near betty because of betty in the comics. and in riverdale, because of both characters.

I finally started s5 I'm on the 5x06 but there's a thing I don't get it why barchie kissed (I mean I think Betty's pov about the kiss will appear on future eps like she and jughead never talked about it) was bcs he didn't feel enough for V or bcs he was on a bad moment of his life? I didn't get it

well, there’s the short version of why they kissed and the long one. 

short-version: it was a plot-device for drama. they wanted to break the main couples up and took the sloppiest, most ooc, stupidest way for that to happen. then, with the pandemic and all, they kind of backtracked on how much impact that kiss would have, and here we are. it’s never going to be brought up by archie again. he’ll never have to explain himself. veronica doesn’t care anymore. the show does not want to give it any importance.

long-version: the way canon put it, archie had a hell of an year with his dad dying, he wasn’t going to graduate, and he was feeling lost and uncertain about his future, in a lot of pain every time. jughead almost died and that triggered all those feelings again. and then, for a moment there, after having a fight with veronica, he felt like being with betty, his childhood friend, his oldest friend, who’s someone he met before all the mess in his life happened, betty who could be “carrying the torch” still, was the answer to those feelings of pain and uncertainty. 

his actions - the kiss and the emotional tryst afterwards - were self-destructive and influenced by everything that he had been going through the entire year. he’d been lost, and veronica was surely going to places he wouldn’t be able to follow, he felt like he was holding her back. it was not lack of love for veronica, it was lack of love for himself. so much that after he makes peace with all that pain, that “passes” (5x02), he wants to be with veronica again, but it’s already too late for them - she already decided they were going on separate ways. and in the end, he knew it had to happen, that they couldn’t stay together if he wanted to heal and if he wanted her to thrive.

but he never stopped loving her, and whatever those feelings were in high school, they didn’t matter anymore after seven years - veronica was still the one in his heart and being with betty physically didn’t change that.

i hope this helps you understand. it’s hard, because while betty’’s pov was really clear on 4x18 (”we feel safe with each other but i love jughead”), archie’s pov was explained slowly, from 5x01-5x03, and then throughout the time jump episodes too. but the conclusion is the same. it’s always been veronica, no matter what happened in the past.

evan: veronica is archie's anchor. they won't stop until they get what they want (v signing the divorce papers). the hostage situation will affect them and hiram's plans.

them: archie will confess his feelings for betty that he'll realize after she's kidnapped because he and veronica just needed closure.

They think that Betty being kidnapped will make Archie realize she is the one with the fear of almost losing her and because the hostage situation will affect every character and Veronica is not loved enough by everyone for people to care about her. And I don't doubt of Archie's feelings for V. He want her and only her

listen i admire their mental gymnastics but the only person who'll care if betty is kidnapped is jughead and maybe tabitha, since those are the people who seem to be around her in the future.

i think they are really trying to make something work here but archie is pushing 30 now, he shouldn't need a life-threatening situation to realize feelings for betty, you know? not after he had the chance to be in a relationship with her and still would rather pine silently for the married woman.

bottom line is: don't pay attention to bas.
