Who do you think is the most consistent or I guess well written character on Riverdale and the least consistent worst writen
first let’s establish that no character on rd is well written ctfu they’re all a collective mess — that being said veronica is probably the most consistent personality wise at least outta the core four (out of all the characters? it’s kevin)
from the pilot veronica’s been this pop culture referencing, materialistic, feminist sassy pants character and as far as characterizations go its the most consistent throughout the show whether its true to her comic origin is a different story although i’d say she’s probably the most like her comic book self but i digress — she’s verbalized so many times how she doesn’t want to be the girl she used to be and she’s determined to be a reformed mean girl which (if the show actually showed us how she used to be) would be A+ development but yeah as far as consistency goes she’s been the same from the beginning, she’s not a different character or trope every other episode
that being said though archie might also be the most consistent? because the characters are so poorly written its hard to say but his overall being has remained the same he’s the braveheart who will do ANYTHING for the people he loves, he’s very much the true hero of riverdale and thats remained consistent from the beginning so idk its a toss up i guess but for me, in my opinion, i think its veronica
i think b*tty and jugh*ad have thee worst characterization on the show — for one, they’re the most polar opposite of their comic counterparts which is an issue of mine in and of itself but also… the writers can’t seem to get either of their personalities down?
b more so than j
b*tty in the pilot (who i really liked) is shown to be this sweet innocent girl next door type with a perfection complex dealing with mental illness and an overbearing mother, she’s soft spoken and wholesome and cares abt her future and school…skip to later in the season(s) and b*tty’s almost murdering a classmate in a hot tub, blackmailing a girl who just tried to kill herself, doing a strip tease dance on stage in front of grown ass men including her bf’s dad, putting on a wig and inappropriately webcasting in her bedroom and then to top it all off … becoming the “queen” of a gang, a gang she didn’t want her boyfriend to be a part of in the first place….it’s fucking weird? and also makes it hard to understand who shes supposed to be at her core?
her character makes no sense at all? she’s n o t h i n g like comic b*tty coop*r which is fine because this is an adaptation but she’s also a different character every couple of episodes? it’s such bad writing which is why i have a hard time giving a fck abt her, like idk how i would describe her to someone who doesn’t watch the show cause she certainly isn’t the sweet-girl-next-door-with-a-perfection-complex anymore ?? (she might dress like that but that’s not who she is? ) she’s all over the place
and jugh*ad is just…poorly written, he’s this sad loner “weirdo” writing a book in the corner of the room and then he’s cutting out pieces of flesh on a woman….and becoming the king of a gang which…..lol @ thinking of comic jug being in a gang or even holding that stupid little pocket knife he carries around smh
so yeah i mean those are just my thoughts i’m sure there are ppl who disagree
