ahh i’m kind of happy it’s taken so long and also sad now you’ve finally seen it. people seem to mistake their mutual dislike for sexual tension (blame bad teen dramas i guess?) and/or they are so straight they want matt themselves so they ship him with clary/lydia/reader whatever. it’s really gross. (it’s also why i refuse to ever gif any alec + woman gifs because they get reused and it’s awful).

wait, there are people who think that shipping Alec (a canon gay) with Clary isn’t homophobic? How? I mean Alec is gay. There’s nothing that changes that. You can’t just try and erase that by saying “oh but WHAT IF he wasbisexual?” or “WHAT IF he was straight instead?” No. Alec is GAY not bi, not straight. get over it.

also just why would you want to ruin such an amazing LGBT+ character? Why ruin the acknowledgement. Book!Alec didn’t spend 90% of the books questioning his sexuality for people to ship pretty boy and the red head.
